Can Gallstones Cause Enlarged Lymph Nodes
My son is coughing and has enlarged lymph nodes. Two small ones on each side of his neck (for over 8 weeks) and a new one the size of a cherry pit.
Swollen lymph nodes: It's time to get that checked out if its been two weeks and getting new swollen glands.
See doctor: That is an interesting combination of symptoms that requires investigation from different points of view. I would see my doctor to get started in the right direction
Yes: Hsv1, the virus that causes cold sores, can definitely make these lymph nodes enlarged. If you have an active sore on your mouth, and your neck and collarbone lymph nodes are enlarged and sore, they should improve as the sore improves. If you don't have a sore, they don't improve, or you have painless, enlarged lymph nodes, you should be examined by a doctor. Don't wait too long!See 1 more doctor answer
Yes.: Bacterial infections, including strep can cause enlarged lymph nodes that are near the site of infection. If that is the cause, if the infection is successfully treated the nodes should shrink back down. Persistently enlarged nodes, or nodes that continue to enlarge need evaluation.See 1 more doctor answer
No: However, if you tend to be over-anxious and you're a young adult, you'll start noticing the lymph nodes that everybody has in their necks. A dangerous node is obviously very abnormal clinically. You need to learn to ignore the ones that aren't fixed to surrounding structures, stony-hard / tire-rubber hard, and not deforming. Please talk with your physician about overcoming these kinds of fearSee 1 more doctor answer
Depends: My answer is yes, it can - but off course it will depend on where is the location of the hsv infection. There are many other things that can cause lymph nodes enlargement. See you doctor for further evaluation.
Yes, but...: Sores in your nose can make your neck lymph nodes enlarged. But the lymph nodes above your collarbone are less likely to be enlarged from sores in your nose. These lymph nodes can be enlarged from something going on in your lungs, chest wall, thyroid, or mouth. Cancer of the lymph nodes (lymphoma) makes them rubbery and swollen but not painful. If these don't get better soon, see a doctor!
What could be the cause of chronically enlarged lymph nodes to neck in an otherwise healthy child? Is an ultrasound to evaluate helpful or not needed?
Often normal: Truth is that some kids just have robust lymph nodes. They are your friends. Be thankful for good health.
Inflammation: Enlarged lymph nodes occur when the immune system is active in a part of the body (a regional factory and distibution site for inflammatory cells which travel from the bloodstream and into the lymphatic fluid). Sources of inflammation in the lungs include infection, autoimmune disorders, injury of lung tissue, chronic respiratory inflammation, and malignancies.See 1 more doctor answer
I have enlarged lymph nodes due to follicular lphoma, what are thoughts on massage? Will it cause any problems?
Likely not: There should be no issue, but would suggest you ask your oncologist first.
I have 6 enlarged lymph nodes on the left side of my neck. Just had one removed for biopsy yesterday. What could this be caused by?
