Pain in right shoulder blade area & right arm pit extending across chest area. Had gall bladder removed could that have anything to do with this?

Pain in right shoulder blade area & right arm pit extending across chest area. Had gall bladder removed could that have anything to do with this?

Yes if: Hi, If your gall bladder was removed laparoscopically within the past 5-7 days, then the pain you are having is due to the carbon dioxide used to inflate your abdomen during the surgery (thereis a neuro-anatomical reason for this). The percocet you are taking should help and the pain should disappear after the CO2 is all gone. If your gb surgery was much longer ago, see a doctor soon. Best wishes. ...Read more

Having pain after gall bladder surgery, sharp pain in upper abdomen when I take a deep breath, had ct, hida scan & chest xray done, can't find anything?

Having pain after gall bladder surgery, sharp pain in upper abdomen when I take a deep breath, had ct, hida scan & chest xray done, can't find anything?

Be patient: If it is early post surgery, that kind of pain can be due to some fluid or a small amount of blood in the surgical area. If so this will clear up. The tests you had should eliminate the more serious post operative problems, such as pulmonary embolism, bile leak or bike duct injury. As always, if the pain persists, go see your surgeon again. ...Read more

I'm having pain on right side on the side. Just near edge ribs and goes under ribs inside. I have no gall bladder. Don't know what to do?

See your doctor: Right upper quadrant abdominal pain can be caused by a number of conditions. Musculoskeletal strain, liver conditions, stomach ulcers or gastritis, bile duct and gallbladder disease, among the myriad possibilities. Your doctor would take a good history and perform a physical exam, ordering blood tests and ultrasound or xrays if necessary. Sometimes even upper endoscopy (egd) may be performed. ...Read more

Lump under ribs on right side gall bladder. What could this be a sign of?

Many things: A lump there may be a fatty lipoma. Can you have microcolitis & gall bladder at the same time? First prob is gone but have swelling under right rib cage and extreme pain between ribs

I am going to have my galbladder removed because of pain in my right side under ribs but now im having pain in left lower abdominal is this my galblad?

Unlikely.: Gallbladder pain is usually right upper quadrant associated with meals. Left lower quadrant pain is very unlikely to be gallbladder related. Depending on your evaluation to date, you may want to discuss this with your doctor prior to surgery. There are many reasons for abdominal pain and you may need further studies prior to proceeding. Although you may have 2 separate problems, they may be relat. ...Read more

No gall bladder for 10 yrs. Lately having pains in left side under ribs. And pressure wer gb shud b. What cud this b? Mri turned up nothing wrong

Could be many things: The GB is on the right under your ribs, so the left sided pain is likely unrelated. If the MRI was normal, I would consider things like acid reflux/gastritis, bruised ribs/muscle pain, etc. Since there are so many possibilities, I'd suggest seeing a primary care doc for further workup. A neg MRI makes an emergency unlikely. Good luck! ...Read more

Ulcer?: In people whose gallbladder is out it is still possible to get right upper quadrant pain under the rib cage. You should see your medical doctor or the surgeon who took out the gall bladder to get a further work up. Would recommend liver function tests and an ultrasound of the liver and common bile duct. Ultimately you should see a doctor who actually knows your medical history and can examine you. ...Read more
