My 9 month old suffers from constipation and is on Lactrulose but it's not working? Would milk instead of formula help?
Constipation: Actually when you switch from formula to milk, I have found in general, that babies get more constipated. I like to use dark Karo syrup in the bottles and titrate to response. It is less expensive. If you do this, you need to stop the lactulose. Alternatively, call your doc and ask what to increase to on the lactulose. Obviously, add more fiber to the diet. ...Read more

Not the formula: Constipation can be a temporary finding in babies. Since they eat formula, the natural assumption is that formula causes constipation. However if you use the pea protein in larger shakes you can still get GI issues such as bloating, gas, diarrhea and constipation. Smaller more frequent shakes will help ...Read more
