21 yrs old female had TB meningitis last yr. She still has issues like one side weakness. Can Ganoderma enhance recovery? Any side effect of ganoderma

Nope: Ganoderma certainly will not hurt but the damage from TB meningitis is due in part to her own immune system fighting the infection and the resultant inflammation and recovery. Steroids immediately afterward, good nutrition, physical therapy and time are you best chance at recovery. ...Read more

Side effects of mennigicocal meningitis in later life?

Side effects of mennigicocal meningitis in later life?

If current: death.: Meningoccocal meningitis is a life threatening bacterial illness of the central nervous system lining called the meninges. I suspect your question is, if one has this disease as a young adult (most common age), and recovers, what are late term effects as an older adult. As far as i'm aware, if one has a full recovery after the acute event, there are not likely to be side effects later in life. ...Read more

Is there any way to know if neck pain is meningitis? it hurts when I'm still, move side to side and down. I've had it for 3 days now

Is there any way to know if neck pain is meningitis? it hurts when I'm still, move side to side and down. I've had it for 3 days now

See a doctor: The best thing to do is get professional help. Sometimes neck pain is just 'muscle pain' brought about by stress, studying in a fixed position, etc. The meninges - which are coverings over the spinal cord, could be inflamed however-and there are certain tests a doctor can do. If it's been 3 days already, this isn't a life threatening condition- but I'd still see the doc so you can get treatment. ...Read more

Dystonia is common: This is common as a side effect of having TB meningitis. It can wax and wane especially when tired, stressed, or sleeping. Overall it tends to decrease over time. If she received a full course of therapy and she is involved with physical therapy, she should regain most of her function. ...Read more

My grandson has meningitis discovered today they are giving him phenobarbital for seziures he is 1 month old what are the side effects I need to watch?

Sedation: I am very sorry to hear about your grandson. Meningitis can be very serious and scary. He was given phenobarbital to prevent seizures, which could occur with the meningitis. Recurrent or prolonged seizures can lead to brain damage, so it is very important that his doctors are giving him this medicine. Sedation, sleepiness, or unconsciousness may occur now, but won't affect him in the future. ...Read more

Fly like symptoms for 4 days. No very painful head and neck on left side only. Can meningitis present with one sided pain and with no fever?

Not likely: Bacterial meningitis usually progresses rapidly once you have it and is very dangerous. Stiff neck and headache can be associated with any Upper respiratory tract infection.
