Alopecia and allergy: It is unlikely that food allergy has anything to do with hair loss. Plus both prick and blood test for food are negative so you are unlikely to have ige mediated food allergy. Many things may cause hair loss including androgenic (male pattern) baldness, fungal infection, autoimmune disease like lupus, thyroid/pituitary dysfunction, iron-deficiency anemia... Atopic dermatitis and contact dermatitis are plenty itchy and may produce positive patch tests for delayed hypersensitivity when immediate hypersensitivity tests are negative ( no IgE). Makes no sense: I'd greatly doubt that these events are related. You may be better off getting patch testing for a contact allergy then to foods , airborne allergens etc. Consult a dermatologist. ...Read more
