Can Fluid In The Ear Cause Dizziness
Middle ear effusion: In general, fluid in the middle ear should not cause dizziness or headache. It definitely causes hearing loss in the affected ear. There are many other causes for dizziness or headache. You need to be evaluated by your primary care doctor, possibly an otolaryngologist, and possibly a neurologist.
Are there really definitive tests that show an inner ear fluid buildup that may result in dizziness as a main physical symtom?
Some: Tympanometry testing can tell if there is fluid in the middle ear, which can cause dizziness. The inner ear, however, is a little more involved to test as there are a number of tests to do to fully assess the inner ear as it is nearly impossible to access. There are different hearing and nerve tests that can be done, but I'm not sure one could definitively tell you there's fluid in the inner ear.
I suddenly got a headache 1 yr. Ago, w/ dizziness, & ear fullness. Everything went away except ear fullness. I hear a loud thump upon bending or straining. No midde ear fluid seen. No tmj. No allergy?
I'm 68.Severe pressure ontop of head, dull right ear, Fluid behind right eardrum, dizziness, sickness loss of appetite. Ct scan normal. Will this go away?
Recheck: Severe persistent headache should be reexamined. Perhaps taking to your doctor for follow up is prudent. If unavailable a recheck at the emergency room might be helpful?
I was wondering what would cause me to feel liquid or fluids along with crackling in my ears. Also I feel dizzy all the time or a little off balance.
What would keep causing fluid in middle ear? No infection just fluid. What do I do about it? What will clear it? Can it cause dizziness?
Depends: Middle ear effusion (fluid) can be caused by many things. Infection, eustachian tube dysfunction, CSF, a mass, etc. To find out what is causing your fluid and what can/should be done about it would require a consultation either here or with your personal physician. I've been dizzy for a few weeks. Doc said there's a little bit of fluid in ear. Could this cause dizziness? Any way to clear it without decongestants
Feeling dizzy, off balance. Have fluid behind ear, can this cause dizziness? What causes fluid with no infection?
Feels like fluid moving around in rt ear when I tilt head around. No pain, throbbing, or discharge, but causes bit of dizziness. Persistent 5 days?
Diagnosis: If you have fluid in the middle ear without pain, it is most likely a viral infection. You need an expert opinion to rule out any problem with your middle ear. These types of problems usually do not require any specific treatment and disappear;. If the symptoms persist for 3 weeks or more see an ENT specialist.
I have some clear fluid coming out of my right ear. I don't really have any ear ache, no recent illness apart from a bit of dizziness yday. Causes?
Hard to say: Hard to say. If one time occurrence, ignore. If persistent, see ENT doc. Rare chance of a cerebrospinal fluid leak.
Can fluid in the ears cause popping sound in ears when swallowing, dizziness, nausea, headache/pressure? What is a natural cure for this if so.
I just woke up intensely dizzy with my ears leaking fluid. If a CSF leak was happening, would it only be in one ear? Vestibular cause more likely?
Seek immediate help: Very difficult to determine without proper exam. Reasons for ear drainage vary widely and must be properly diagnosed and treated as soon as possible. Please, seek medical attention with your pcp or any other provider who can see you within a day or two..See 1 more doctor answer
Dizziness, nausea x3days. Just over a cold, Dr said fluid in ears, but shouldn't cause this? MRI of brain 6 months ago. Brain tumor? Scared. 27/F.
No tumor: URI can produce some inflammation of inner ear. This results with fluid behind ear drum which if symptomatic should be drained. The fluid could induce pressure on semicucular canals and result in dizziness and well if pressure reaches brances of vagus n. then nausea can result. MRI of brain must have had a reason but if proved neg. The indications for scan were ruled out.
