I am taking 50gr l-thyroxin per day. For aiding constipation I have just took one tablespoon castol oil. Is it going to cause some side effects?
Castor oil is a high: molecular weight oil, and not the best to take for constipation. You don't want it affecting absorption of your meds. Make sure you take your thyroxine first thing in the morning before you even eat your breakfast on an empty stomach. You are better off using buik laxative, or cooked greens/veges and hydration, and movement (exercise like walking) are better to do to reduce constipation long term. ...Read more

Folic acid: Folic acid can make you gain weight, if you have a deficiency, that it is correcting. If not, then it shouldn't. That sounds like an awful lot of folic acid. Check your dose. The CDC recommends 0.4mg (400 micrograms) per day, in women of child bearing years. More than 50% of all pregnancies are unplanned.
