how to know if the heavy bleeding is due to intramural fibroids(2.2x1.9,1x1) or DUB?dr says DUB;can small intramural fibroids cause heavy bleeding?

Msybe.

Hemorrhage
Fibroids ccan be the cause but hormonal irregularities can also be the culprit. It may be some combination of the two. You have to rule out an abnormal growth in the uterine lining. Speak with your doc.

If you are on Warfarin, you may have heavier bleeding with your menstrual cycles. You may also have spotting and light bleeding between your menstrual cycles as well. Because of the risks for bleeding you should take additional iron supplements to reduce your risk for anemia.

had transvaginal us.. showed several fibroids. rt ovary normal. lft ovary with a complex cystic lesion measuring 4.2 x 3.6 x 3.5. what could this mean . my symptons are heavy bleeding with large clots and bleeding most of the time. endometrium measures 8

Ovary

Fibroids
Heavy bleeding with fibroids is common; you can address with yoru doctor how to handle this. An 8mm endometrium is very non-specific, in other words it's almost certainly normal. A complex cystic mass is more concerning: it could range from irrelevant to worrisome. You need to discuss this with your doctor in person.

I think I'm too young to have a hysterectomy, but I have heavy bleeding and fibroids. What is the difference between a robotic laparoscopic myomectomy and a robotic hysterectomy?

Pregnancy?

Laparoscopy
This presentation is common in women with fibroids. Future pregnancy is a consideration which may lead to a recommendation for myomectomy where the fibroids are removed leaving the uterus intact. If pregnancy is not desired, the options include medical therapy, myomectomy or for definitive treatment, hysterectomy where the uterus is removed. Robotc surgery offers shorter recovery, less blood loss.

Dr. Neil J. Halin answered:

Will a uterine ablation help pain and heavy bleeding from fibroids..I have that option or a hysterectomy. 41 years old..no children. Severely anemic.

UFE

Hemorrhage
Have you consulted with an Interventional Radiologist regarding Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE)? This procedure is usually a great option for women with symptomatic fibroids. It is minimally invasive (tiny incision in your groin) and treats fibroids in any portion of your uterus, not just ones that can be reached through the uterine cavity.

Dr .Is dieting SAFE if one has anemia due to FIBROIDS bleeding ? I'm trying to loose weight that i've gained ,i suspect estrogen to be the cause.

Excess estrogen?

Despite health issues, a change in diet that reduces starch, sugars, and excess fatty foods should not cause harm. I hope you are getting medical help for your fibroids. If they are causing anemia, then something should be done about them. Ask your doc to test your progesterone level and if it's low take progesterone (NOT medroxyprogesterone) 100 mg @ bedtime day 12-25 of your cycle.

49 yrs F, MRI & ultraSound show 2 small fibroids & cervical polyp. Dr. sez hvy pain bleeding is caused by hormone flux . Could it b endometriosis ?

Can be from hormones

Ultrasound
As a woman gets older, the hormone regulation gets out of balance, and can cause these things. This can influence endometrium growth, and thus result in relative endometriosis, and heavy periods. But this should be limited to your cycle. It is when/if you have spotting and discharge between periods that is more cause for concern, as this is the kind that is more associated with abnormal issues.
