Need laparoscopy?: It sounds like you may need a laparoscopy to make a diagnosis. If there is endometriosis, it can be treated surgically. Going to the ER probably won't speed up the process. You need to see your GYN to discuss a plan. ...Read more

I have been suffering from an almost constant constipation since a colonoscopy that happened a month and a half ago. Is it normal? I do have ibs, ms, endometriosis, andhypothyroidism. I have been using miralax (polyethylene glycol).

Med side effect?: Drugs that slow motility (like certain medications for ibs) could cause constipation. Most pain meds also do. Some antidepressants also. As mentioned your thyroid level needs to be normal. Otherwise, the key to constipation is eating a lot of fiber and staying well hydrated. Fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grain foods tend to have fiber. ...Read more

May not be colon: You do not mention that you have seen a hematologist. You may need to do that for further workup, if no cause for bleeding is found. Also, there is a way to look at the small bowel to make sure the bleeding is not coming from there, called a capsule endoscopy, where you swallow a capsule with a camera in it. YEs: Yes it can but only if it has invaded from the outside of the bowel to the inside. It is worth seeing a specialist about endometriosis to figure out what is going on. You definitely need some type of treatment if you have endometriosis and if it is that significant. ...Read more
