Does eating ice cream affect stomach ulcers? Hurts my stomach about 10mins after eating ice cream. The pain is where the ulcers are

Not expected: Actually cream tends to soothe the ulcer pain temporarily but does slow down your stomach emptying and thus may worsen your symptoms if you have reflux problem. You need to see a doctor see most ulcers can be permanently cured by a short course of medications if caused by a bacterium called h pylori. ...Read more

My chin hurts after hitting it on a dumbbell. Ice it?

My chin hurts after hitting it on a dumbbell. Ice it?

Sore chin: If the chin is just sore after hitting it with a dumbell, then i would ice it 20 minutes every hour for the first 2 days. If you are not allergic, you can also take an anti-inflammatory medicine like advil or naproxen. If there is any change in your teeth fitting together, then you should definitely see a dentist or physician. ...Read more

I hit my head on the car door yesterday and i forgot to put an ice when i got home, now when i touch the part where my head got hit it hurts?

Not surprising: It's not too late to use ice to reduce swelling and inflammation, so go ahead. Should be beneficial for the first 3-4 days. Otherwise, no worries. Good luck ...Read more

My shoulder really hurts all of a sudden. What do you think is the problem? What should I do? I have tried ice but it still hurts!

My shoulder really hurts all of a sudden. What do you think is the problem? What should I do? I have tried ice but it still hurts!

Hard to tell: Your pain could be from several sources. If you didn't have an injury and it started hurting after activity you may have just flared up your rotator cuff depending on your age. Other causes include a "pinched nerve", frozen shoulder or adhesive capsulitis (common in women age 40-60 and begins with pain), or referred pain from a cardiac or intrabdominal source. Start with rice and see md if worse. ...Read more

I have plantar fascitis, it normally stops hurting with ice and stretches but has hurt non stop for over a week. Should i be worried?

Custom orthotics: Not worried, but certainly , go see your podiatrist and get custom foot orthotics and some acute care; such as cortisone infections, shockwave therapy, physical therapy in addition to your current routine of ice and stretching. Also, avoid walking barefoot, even at home. Use a clog, croc or fit-flop. ...Read more

My ankle hurts from my soccer game. Ice didn't help. What now?

My ankle hurts from my soccer game. Ice didn't help. What now?

Possibly see doc: If you are having ankle pain that is not helping with at home conservative measures (ie the rice protocol, rest, ice, compression, elevation) then it is not a bad idea to check in with a foot and ankle specialist to ensure that there might not have been any other injury that might have occurred during the game. ...Read more
