Ear wax in the ear canal is a mixture of secretions from oil and sweat glands in the canal's skin. Shedded skin cells are also a major ingredient of ear wax. There are two genetically determined types of ear wax: the wet type and the dry type. While Asians and Native Americans are more likely to have the dry type (crumbly, flaky), Africans and Europeans are more likely to have the ...Read more
It should not: Wax buildup will decrease the ability to hear sounds but should not cause dizziness. The dizzy sensation is usually from the semi-circular canals of the ear or from deep brainstem structures. Ear wax can easily be removed to see if the symptoms improve. Probably they will not, and other causes will need to be investigated.
Dizziness: Yes, this is quites possible. However, once the impacted wax (cerumen) is removed, one should feel relief.

I am not an expert on this specific issue but if you were my child - I would seek medical assessment for your on-going symptoms. Take care.

The other day I was trying to remove some excess ear wax in my right ear. I woke up to dizziness and double vision that comes and goes when moving?
Extreme dizziness, a lot of tonsil stones, some ear pain and tinnitus for a week. What could be causing the dizziness? There is no ear wax or fluid.
Dizziness: Extreme dizziness can be from many causes including severe infection, dehydration, increased pressure in the middle ear space, inner ear inflammation (labrynthitis), cardiac disease, stroke or TIA. An urgent care for formalized testing and in person neurological exam is likely required. Please get help.
II feel like I have alot of ear wax in ears cannot get it out. I feel nausea at night more and weak dizzy and tired. My ear hurt inside how serious?
Possibly: If the ear wax is so heavy that it clogs the external canal, mild symptoms might ensue, but you describe upper respiratory symptoms, and this makes me wonder if your eustachian tube is inflamed. Check with your doctor.
Yes and no: Ear buds and especially ear plugs have the ability to press wax deeper into the ear canal. If this happens the wax may not easily fall out on its own. Despite this, dizziness is uncommon. Although some people will consider ear pressure or plugging which is common with wax impaction to feel like dizziness, true dizziness is usually characterized by imbalance, spinning, or disorientation.See 1 more doctor answer
Dr cleaned out impacted ear wax in both ears and said could have been causing my vertigo. How long will the vertigo last now that they are clean?
Not true: True vertigo is not caused by wax in the ears.
Had blocked ear do to allergies. Did a ear wax removal kit. Still seemed plugged up two days later went to do peroxide/water it was cold now vertigo?
Blocked ear: You probably still have wax in the ear. Use a bulb syringe and warm water so you do not get dizzy. The cold water will always cause you to get dizzy. Do not use cold water. You can use some more peroxide or you can get it sucked out by your local ent. You so not have to suffer any longer. See the ent, if you are frustrated. It is fun to get your ear cleaned out by a professional, .See 1 more doctor answer

Some additional symptoms include: headache, dizziness, ear pressure/ pain, clicking noise in front of ear, sore or sensitive teeth.

I think my Eustachain tubes are blocked again after using wax softer as I have pus. Dizziness. And blocked ears how do I unblock. Doctor won't do noth?
Reason?: Can you explain why the "Doctor won't do noth? " Sometimes we feel that our ears or Eustachian tubes are blocked even after we believe they've been adequately treated with medication and then, believe we need another round of antibiotics or antihistamines, or whatever. But in reality they've been treated but it takes a little time for things to go back to normal. Is that possible?
Wax buildup - loss of hearing in my right ear, as well as a loud ringing sound and some dizziness/nausea (very mild). Nothing is helping.?
Consult with ENT: This could be because of the wax or something more serious. Make the phone call now.
Had wax build up in my ear. Removed it. Now is a little tender and I'm dizzy sometimes. No fever?
Possibility: There is a little left behind that continues to irritate, or the removal was followed by a mechanical irritation that if not progressing towards infection, will heal at the end. The dizziness is because of the proximity with the vestibular apparatus that keeps your balance while walking.See 1 more doctor answer
