Are vision problems also associated with dry eyes and if so are they treated the same as other dry eye symptoms.

Are vision problems also associated with dry eyes and if so are they treated the same as other dry eye symptoms.

Depends: Ordinary dry eyes are sometimes uncomfortable but not harmful. If the dryness is more severe then the surface of the eye can develop dry spots that impair the vision and if severe, the front of the eye can break down. If the vision is impaired then extra strong treatment from your ophthalmologist will be necessary.

Change In Vision (Definition)

There are many types of eye problems and visual disturbances. These include blurred vision, halos, blind spots, floaters, and other symptoms. Blurred vision is the loss of sharpness of vision and the inability to see small details. Blind spots (scotomas) are dark "holes" in the visual field in which ...Read more

Question not clear: Alternating dry and watery eyes could come from either eyelid hygiene issues or allergies or lack of adequate breaks from computer use or a combination of these. Try a program of cleaning the eyelashes well with warm washcloth daily, get plenty of sleep, stay away from irritants like smoke and sunlight. If symptoms persist see an eye doctor.

44 Female. Causes of intermittent stabbing eyeball pain without any change in vision. Eyes not red, etc. Sometimes also burn. Dry eyes?

Sounds like Dry eyes: Dry eyes are an often the culprit of many symptoms in the eye which can include burning, stinging, tearing, foreign body sensation, tiredness, heaviness, blurred vision and eye pain. You can have some or all of the symptoms or even none of the symptoms and have dry eye. I would suggest starting with using over-the-counter artificial tears and a warm compress on the eye to see if that helps.

My eyes having a problem in vision little blurred and some different kind of warms type of images are appearing in my vision dry eyes and irritation?

My eyes having a problem in vision little blurred and some different kind of warms type of images are appearing in my vision dry eyes and irritation?

Perhaps: Dry eyes can cause blurred vision, but in combination with seeing images of "worms" there is a concern that there might be other problems. The vitreous (jelly in the back of the eye) and the retina (wallpaper in the back inside surface of the eye) can come off and create very similar symptoms. It is best to see an eye md for a complete eye evaluation.

Can having very thin corneas cause flactuating blurry vision and dry eyes?

No: A very thin cornea induced by inappropriate patient selection and laser refractive surgery can profoundly affect the vision-- very rare and probably not you. A thin cornea will not change your vision, or cause dry eyes.

Can my enlarged adenoids worsen my dry eyes? Everytime I put some kind of nasal spray my vision goes clear not blurry that it usually is cause of dry

No: But I don't understand why a nasal spray would clear up your vision unless you have been squeezing your eyelids shut (which produces tear) while spraying.

Can post viral syndrome cause dry eyes, eye soreness and slightly blurry vision?

Can post viral syndrome cause dry eyes, eye soreness and slightly blurry vision?

Dry eyes: What kind of viral infection preceded this? . If it is not related to the eye or facial area, I doubt it is secondary to the viral infection. You may have dry eyes, try artificial tear solutions available over the counter, if blurry vision continues have it checked out.

Could sinus or ear infections cause vision problems in one eye?

Could sinus or ear infections cause vision problems in one eye?

Sinus/ear infections: Will typically not cause any problems with your eyes. A severe sinus infection could potentially spread into tissues in the socket around your eye and could cause some eye problems if not treated properly. Make sure you take any medication prescribed by your doctor if you have an infection in your sinuses.

Dry eyes blepharitis. On Dothiepin 31mg. Don't know if it contribute to problem. SSRI not well tolerated. Which antidepressant won't cause dry eyes?

All might do it: It really appears to be trial and error and w/ how long a weaning some require that's a very troubling reply - I know. Some that often do - don't for a particular person. I doubt anyone knows before hand. It's a good reason to consider CBT psychotherapy if your depression can be managed w/ little or w/out medications and their side effects. Worth a try while you switch meds seeking a winner!

Can I have lasik surgery to fix vision problems caused by an eye injury?

Can I have lasik surgery to fix vision problems caused by an eye injury?

Probably not but....: Your should consult a lasik surgeon to see if you are a candidate. Generally speaking, if your vision is not correctable with glasses, you probably will not be a lasik candidate.

Is it possible to have lasik eye surgery to correct vision problems caused by an eye injury?

Is it possible to have lasik eye surgery to correct vision problems caused by an eye injury?

No: Most likely the eye injury will have damaged the eye enough that just doing lasik will not correct the vision enough, or sometimes the eye injury causes other problems that contraindicate getting lasik done. The best way to know if a good candidate for lasik is to have a preop eval.
