Can Dr Belly Measurements Be Off Dramatically
My high risk Dr. said I have a low lying placenta, that I should be on pelvic rest, no heavy lifting. I'm 24 weeks pregnant. How likely will the placenta not move to the top by the delivery date? What is max weight I can lift? Ok to walk 30 min/day?
I believe you're: referring to placenta previa where the placenta implants around the opening of the uterus (cervix). Generally, limit on weights is whatever you can lift using arm and shoulder muscles only. (5-10# +/-. Walking is probably safe, but check with your OB. Often the placenta migrates away from the cervix during 3rd trimester. IT'S VERY IMPORTANT TO LET YOUR OB KNOW IF YOU HAVE VAGINAL BLEEDING. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Not a tumor: During diets, the weight loss may not be uniform and you lose weight in areas like your extremities but not the torso. If you have a sustained weight loss, than over time your body will decrease the torso or waist area and you can decrease your size. Sustained duration of weight loss will be best for the results of decreasing your body circumference. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Doctor advised to end pregnancy as last csection stomach muscles were attached to my uterus & can be life threatening. Will this effect a abortion?
I have a question regarding measuring heart rate. Can this be measured around the eye/temple area? and will this be an accurate measurement place?
Sounds fine: Anywhere in the body where one feels a steady pulse is fine to count the heart rate from. Technically speaking, when people count that way, they are counting the PULSE rate, not the heart rate. In normal people, the pulse rate equals the heart rate, so that is not a problem. In certain heart disorders, however, the heart may have a faster rate than the pulse, meaning some heartbeats don't pulse. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My double vision is reduced with medication, but at certain point its constant. Can my eyewill be asa healthier as it was?
At 24 weeks, I was told by high risk Dr that I have a low lying placenta but it's not covering the cervix. How likely will it move to the top?
Likely: The placenta has to be watched but many low lying placentas migrate up the wall of the uterus as it grows. There are some of them that will get close to the os(opening) of the uterus but most will still remain away from blocking the opening. Just be patient and follow your doctors instructions and they will keep track of the migration as your pregnancy develops. I hope this helped. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

What can be causing my hCG levels to fluctuate greatly and have symptoms of miscarriage but the fetus has been seen in my uterus?
Fluctuating hcg: Fluctuated levels of hcg is not a reassuring sign. The simple fact is that just because the fetus is in the uterus does not mean she is not miscarrying. Sometimes a spontaneous abortion is followed by spontaneous delivery of the fetus but other times the fetus must be delivered by the doctor. Follow up with her OB and he/she will advise her. ...Read more

Some numbness common: It depends on what type of hernia repair you had done. It's not uncommon to have numbness around the incisions after surgery. If you had a laparoscopic hernia repair, that should be minimal. Open hernia repairs are associated with some incidence of numbness on the inside of the thigh and scrotum.
