Could my 60 mg X 2 a day of Diltiazem be making my recent worsening palpitations even worse? They certainly aren't helping.
Palpitation/Diltiaza: About 1% of patient experience palpitations on diltiazam. Diltiazam is suppose to slow AV conduction. Sometimes there is tachycardia, extrasystole and AV block. Very rare: The syndrome alone is very rare - one person per million kinda rare. Can occur with any drug but usually a sulfa based drug and very very rare with diltiazem. Probably would have to do a world litature search to find even a few cases related to this drug. ...Read more

ACE inhibitors such as enlapril, lisinopril and captopril have a significant side effect with a cough.
