Which one: There are many brands of materna formula, there is vegetarian, there is materna sensitive, materna good night rice and materna dairy. You should discuss your childs diarrhea with your pediatrician. He needs to know, the number of stools, consistency, frequency etc. You pediatrician will work with you to choose the appropriate formula. Breast milk is best. Consider breast feeding if not too late.

Bad idea: Tampons are meant for uterine/vaginal bleeding. You insert it, it expands when wet, can't migrate farther up, and can be reasonably easily removed. Foreign bodies in the rectum can migrate up, beyond the reach for retrievel (unpleasant at best), and arguably could cause a bowel obstruction.
