on 450mg wellbutrin, (bupropion) 2mg of mirapex for depression. I do not have rls/parkinsons. Mirpex cause bad insomnia. Sinemet might be be better option?

Probably not: if you do not have Parkinsonism Or rls. I am not sure why you would need mirapex or simemet in combo with Wellbutrin (bupropion). All 3 are dopamine agonists and could contribute to insomnia. I have used mirtazepine or paroxetine in combination with Wellbutrin (bupropion). Both are antidepressants and usually sedating, but discuss with prescribing doc. There may be some other reason you are on the mirapex ...Read more

It depends. With any: illness, including depression, a complete evaluation is always the deciding factor, along with the patient, and prior to prescribing anything. Once the patient and the provider have discussed the risks, benefits, alternatives to the treatment, based upon the findings, then would a med be justified. Many possibilities: Dr. Jackson is correct: these may be not at all related, but clusters of symptoms from several etiologic origins. I think that depression could very reasonably be associated with a good deal of your symptomatology, with the overlaying onset of an upper respiratory infection. Not exactly: Insomnia doesn't exactly "treat" depression, but some studies have found that sleep deprivation may temporarily help depression.
