Dear Dr my eyes are very sensitive to light and sometimes I feel pain in my eyes and my vision is 6/12 in left and 6/18 in right And my eyes are dry.
Many possible causes: You should see an ophthalmologist to manage this issue. There are many possible causes of redness and sensitivity to light.
See your doc: Sounds like you're feverish. The cause could be a number of things, some of which are serious. I would recommend seeing your doctor asap.
Individual sensitive: While it is true that lighter colored eyes on average tend to be more light sensitive, many with brown eyes are also light sensitive and you fall in that category. As long as the eyes are not diseased and the vision is good, then you don't have to worry about this although you might carry sunglasses with you more often.
Eye MD: See an ophthalmologist to manage this problem.
Ophthalmic exam: You may consult your doctor. It coud be many reason or not.
Contact lenses: Contact lenses are foreign, highly milled plastic polymers that correct refractive errors. A proper fit is very important. Many factors can interfere with a comfortable contact lens fit including: too tight a fit, too dry an eye, excessive protein deposits on contact lens, overwear, viral or bacterial infection, contact lens allergy just to name a few. All these can increase sensitivity.

Could use your help docs! My eyes are very sensitive to light and they tear almost everyday is there anything I can do?
Get an eye exam: Dry eye commonly causes a variety of symptoms such as grittiness, light sensitivity, eye fatigue, fluctuating vision, and even tearing. Tearing that occurs when the eyes are dry as a baseline is called reflex tearing. The eyes suddenly pour out tears in response to the dryness. These tears are not usually very lubricating. Other conditions such as eye inflammation and glaucoma can also cause this.
Yes: Blue eyes have less pigment in the iris and therefore transmit light to the retina easier, increasing light exposure and sensitivity. Not all blue-eyed people are abnormally sensitive to light. Adaptation can happen, as well as the wearing of sun glasses for protection and comfort.See 1 more doctor answer
Yes in my experience: I don't have any scientific data to support me, but my blue eyed patients seem to report more sensitivity to light than those patients with brown eyes.See 4 more doctor answers
I have pain in my eyes sometimes and they seem very sensitive to light and wind I have really light colored eyes could that be the reason?
Possibly dry eye: There are many things that can cause those symptoms, and only through an eye exam can you be sure. However, sensitivity to wind is very suggestive of a dry eye condition, which can also cause light sensitivity and pain. People with light colored eyes can be light sensitive because of decreased pigment in the eye. Over the counter artificial tears may help some of your symptoms.See 1 more doctor answer
