Can Chicken Fries Get Stuck In Your Throat
Choked on pasta shells; coughed nothing came out .Sensation in lower part of throat by treachea area .Can pasta b stuck? Do i need to go to e.R?
Irritation: If the pasta was still stuck, you would have extreme difficulty breathing/talking. If that was the case, i would call 911. Since that does not seem to be the case, it is much more likely that your throat got irritated by the choking event, and the pasta passed down into your stomach. The sensation in your throat can last for a day or two, and is fairly common. Avoid hard, crunchy, spicy foods. ...Read more

Does swallowing mucus empty your sinuses or back them up? Think i got food stuck there tonight (felt it in my nose) and hope swallowing gets rid of it
Post-nasal drip: Post-nasal drip is the sensation that nasal mucous is dripping down the back of your throat. Inside your nose, mucous is being constantly producted and is swept backward to the throat by microscopic hair cells called cilia. The over-production of mucous can occur due to allergy, irritant sensitivity or sinus infections. An examination by a physician might be needed to separate these possibilities. ...Read more
Mucus in my throat can't seem to get rid of the mucus in my throat. Swallowing and coughing them won't take care of the problem. I enjoy drinking ice cold water. Could this be the problem.
I : I agree with the comments my colleague has made about the causes of mucous in your throat that may arise in the nose or from allergies, but it is very important that you see an ENT to rule out among other things a very common condition, called laryngopharyngeal reflux. We are all aware of heartburn being caused by acid that comes up from the stomach into the esophagus and causing that uncomfortable sensation in the chest. But one of the more unrecognized conditions to elude many patients but also their care takers, ENT specialists, allergists, pulmonologists and primary medical care physicians alike is acid reflux that affects the throat and ocassionally the sinuses. If you are clearing your throat frequently, feel there is mucous in your throat mainly when you wake up in the morning and occasionally feel a sort of foreign body sensation as if something is tuck in your throat you may have laryngopharyngeal reflux which is easily treated without any surgery. Your symptoms may or may not be accompanied by an acidic taste in your mouth or heartburn. The treatment involves a slight change in your diet to reflect low acid foods mainly removing things such as tomato, onion, chocolate, caffeine, smoking, alcohol, peppermint, spicy, fatty foods and citrus and then starting a medication that reduces the acid in your stomach. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

If you are eating and inhale something like spaghetti sauce? How would your lungs get rid of the foreign substance?
Cough and swallow: So first your lungs and bronchi try to expel it by coughing 'your lungs out.' in all seriousness this gets rid of quite a lot of the toxic substances. If you cannot cough it out something must take it out or someone helps you like patting on back etc. After that whatever is left is engulfed by the natural killer cells in the lungs. These break down the particles by surrounding them and expelng. ...Read more
