How long does it take 4 abnormal cells to turn into cervical cancer? 22, had ultrasound 1 yr agopap every 6mnths nothing there just abnormal cells.

No one knows: A clinical cancer has millions or billions of cells, by the time it is detected. (Cells are very tiny) To calculate the time required to go from a few to lots depends on the doubling time, which can varry even in similar tumors.

Sonogram (Definition)

An ultraound, also known as a sonogram, is a painless and relatively inexpensive imaging test that utilizes sound waves instead of ionizing radiation. There are no side effects. Ultrasound can give us two-dimensional, and in some applications three-dimensional, images of structures and organs in virtually any part of the body. In addition to diagnostic uses, such as evaluating abnormalities in the abdomen, pelvis, and breast, ultrasounds are commonly used to guide needle and catheter placement in a variety of surgical ...Read more

Would metastatic cervical cancer in the breast appear the same as breast cancer on mammogram and ultrasound?

Would metastatic cervical cancer in the breast appear the same as breast cancer on mammogram and ultrasound?

Possibly on imaging: Cervical cancer (the tissue at the end of the vaginal canal) rarely metastasizes to the breast. Rather breast cancer may metastasize to many areas of body, such as bone, lung, brain, lymph nodes. That being said, any abnormal growth in the breast, though mostly breast tissue, could look similarly by mammogram or ultrasound. The bottom line is if there is an abnormality, must be biopsied.

Would a transvaginal ultra sound detect cervical cancer?

Would a transvaginal ultra sound detect cervical cancer?

Only if advanced: A pap smear is the best way to screen for cervical cancer. A biopsy of the cervix is the way to diagnose cervical cancer or precancerous cells. Most abnormal cells on the cervix are precancerous, only a few are actual cancer when found. Most cervical cancers are early and small, so aren't seen by an ultrasound. An ultrasound could only see cervical cancer if it was causing a large mass.

This is not a proven useful chemical...it is relatively new and is not medically proven to help anybody like yourself who has regular cancer (Cervix cancer) which should be treated with regular standard treatments

How can I get cervical cancer?

Through sex mostly: The human papilloma virus, or hpv, is spread by sexual intercourse and increases the risk of cervical, anal and penile cancers. This is why the hpv vaccine lowers the risk of cervical cancer and is recommended (for complete preventive recommendations, see the my health checklist iphone app). Smoking is the only consistent nonsexual risk factor, according to the us preventive services task force.

Is it unusual to get cervical cancer?

Depends on exposure: Cervical cancer is a malignant lesion of the opening of the mouth of the uterus. It begins as an insitu lesion with no symptoms and progresses to an ulcerating hemorrhagic tumor that can be difficult to treat. It arises from the HPV virus in uncircumsized males growing in the foreskin of the penis. If a woman gets cervical cancer her husband or partner stills has the penile foreskin.

How could a woman get cervical cancer?

HPV infection...: Nearly all cervical cancers are caused by infection with the dna virus called human papillomavirus (hpv). This virus is most commonly spread by sexual contact, and certain viral strains can incorporate into human dna and cause human cells to proliferate outside of normal cell growth control causing dysplasia (precancer) and then possibly cancer. The pap test is a screening test to detect this.
