Just wondering if it could be carpal tunnel syndrome, although in neck and shoulder I'm thinking probably not, right?
Where is pain: If you can try to re post your question as its not clear. I am assuming that you have neck and shoulder pain and are wondering if it could be carpal tunnel. It is possible for a pinched nerve to cause pain in the arm down to the hand but usually carpal tunnel does not cause neck pain. if you see a neurologist they can do a nerve study test to confirm diagnosis and start occupational therapy.See 1 more doctor answer

Suspecting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, I applied strong pressure (Pinch) for a couple seconds on the median nerve area. Will that cause any perm. Damage?
Carpal tunnel: Applying pressure for couple of seconds will not cause permanent damage.See 1 more doctor answer
Yes: Any activity where the wrist is moving up and down or if it is held in a bent position for a long time can put added pressure on the median nerve and thereby cause symptoms of tingling, numbnes, and pain i.E carpal tunnel symptoms. But if you are typing alot you need to be aware of many things besides just wrist position or you risk other rsi related problems. Good luck.See 1 more doctor answer

Rest: Carpal tunnel is overgrowth of band around tunnel for median nerve, rest ius best treatment but half cocked Velcro wrist splints especially at night along with pain meds like Excedrin, motrin, aleve (naproxen) good, repetitive wristflexion /work causes this most often though not sure in many cases if getting worse steroid injection or surgery in order but still can come back if repetitive use again builds
Location: Carpal tunnel syndrome will have tingling in the hand in the palm surface of the thumb, index, middle and 1/2 of the ring finger. It is usually not associated with pain above the elbow, but it can. Neck pain and weakness are usually signs of a pinched nerve in the neck and not carpal tunnel syndrome. A good pm&r doc or orthopedic surgeon can tell the difference easily with an examination.See 1 more doctor answer
