Where is pain: If you can try to re post your question as its not clear. I am assuming that you have neck and shoulder pain and are wondering if it could be carpal tunnel. Yes: Any activity where the wrist is moving up and down or if it is held in a bent position for a long time can put added pressure on the median nerve and thereby cause symptoms of tingling, numbnes, and pain i.E carpal tunnel symptoms. Location: Carpal tunnel syndrome will have tingling in the hand in the palm surface of the thumb, index, middle and 1/2 of the ring finger. It is usually not associated with pain above the elbow, but it can. Neck pain and weakness are usually signs of a pinched nerve in the neck and not carpal tunnel syndrome.
