Where is pain: if you can try to re post your question as its not clear. I am assuming that you have neck and shoulder pain and are wondering if it could be carpal tunnel. It is possible for a pinched nerve to cause pain in the arm down to the hand but usually carpal tunnel does not cause neck pain. if you see a neurologist they can do a nerve study test to confirm diagnosis and start occupational therapy. ...Read more

See rheum: You are far more likely to have carpal tunnel than lupus. I presume you have seen an orthopedic surgeon who had injected the wrist area with cortisone. If the nerve test confirms CTS, then you should rest at ease. I greatly doubt that you have lupus since the joint involvement is atypical and your gender. ...Read more

Chances are you: Have bilateral CTS . why guess and risk perminant loss of function ? splint both wrists at night for 10 days and then check your nerve function ( EMG-NCS test ) if you still have evidence if CTS or have muscle denervation on the EMG consider more aggressive therapy CTS release surgery. ...Read more
