Can Budecort And Duolin Respules Be Mixed Together
Yes: They are used for different reasons. Albuterol is a fast-acting rescue medication to relax airway smooth muscle and relieve symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath. Whereas Qvar is a daily maintenance medication for asthma to treat underlying airway inflammation and mucus. They can be taken at the same time without interactions. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

No: While you can mix the 2 medications together, it is preferable to separate them. The albuterol should be given first because it will quickly open up the airways and allow the pulmicort a better chance to get further into the airways. The timing between the 2 is generally 10-20 minutes apart. ...Read more
Can dulera and Advair be used together for emphysema or dulera and symbicort (budesonide and formoterol)?
Yes: A scenario where one may be needing to take Dulera (formoterol and mometasone) and ventolin around the same time would be during some type of asthma/copd exacerbation. Remember though, Dulera (formoterol and mometasone) has a long acting form of albuterol (the active ingredient in ventolin). So normally, one would not need to take them both at the same time. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I take albuterol, also ipratropium bromide, and budosemide, i mix the albuterol and ipratropium together. Is it ok to mix the budosemide w/albuterol?
No: I would not do it, just because you don't know how you're going to react to it. Although, there are commercial preparations of longer acting albuterol (salmeterol, formoterol), mixed in with a steroid (budesonide), there is no such formulation that would include short acting albuterol. ...Read more

Yes: I often will do this, especially for asthma patients that are difficult to control. The reason is that the steroid component of advair is a large particle and thus only gets in the larger airways. Qvar is a smaller particle steroid, thus it gets deeper in the airways. Combining the two often works very well, then after a month or two, you can usually stop one of them. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Please tell me can flunisolide and symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) be prescribed together for severe asthma?
Yes generally: Albuterol is used as a 'rescue inhaler' for symptoms while on symbicort (budesonide and formoterol). Flunisolide nasal spray can be used at the same time, but please check with your physician. Monitoring your peak flow and ACT score as well as avoiding triggers for your asthma are important aspects of your care. I would suggest having your total IgE checked as well. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Absolutely: Proventil (albuterol) and atrovent (ipratropium bromide) are very commonly recommend to be used together for treatment of airway bronchospasm commonly seen in asthma or copd. I would caution that there are better, long-acting medications that provide better benefit if you are not well-controlled on proventil and atrovent alone. Otherwise they do indeed work very well together. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Yes: In fact most of my patients are instructed to do so to treat wheezing patient with acute bronchitis. Neb machine with both meds together- to be used twice a day. Yes, but...: You can put both together in the nebulizer; however, i prefer to separate them for this reason...Albuterol works fast to open up closed airways giving the pulmicort a better chance of getting into the airways and decreasing inflammation. If you give both together, and there is significant airway spasm (closure), the pulmicort may not be as effective. ...Read more
