My baby is 7mnths, im breastfeeding, having irregular periods, and i wish to get pregnant asap.Does breastfeeding cause irregular period? Wat can I do?

Yes, but normal: Breastfeeding can suppress ovulation, causing irregular or no periods while breastfeeding. This will make it harder to get pregnant. The less you breastfeed your baby, the more likely your periods and fertility will return to normal. However the breastmilk that your baby is getting is the best nutrition for him, so i would recommend you keep breastfeeding. ...Read more

Had ONE Depo-Provera shot 5 months ago, irregular bleeding has stopped. When can I get pregnant? And can I use HcG to help make me more fertile?

Drop: You are outside the range of established effectiveness for deposit provera (medroxyprogesterone). So it is possible that you could get pregnant right now. I hav irregular periods and i want to conceive. Gyn gave me microgynon ED and ff for 1 cycle to regulate my menses. Will i conceive after and when?

Maybe, will be hard: The microgynon is an oral contraceptive pill, these tend to work well to regulate cycles, but won't fix the underlying disorder that is causing the irregular periods in the first place. It sounds like you are not ovulating regularly (this causes irregular bleeding) and if that is the case, then you probably need to be tested and treated with meds to stimulate ovulation. Need to see a gyn doc. ...Read more

I want to get pregnant but my doc prescribed me with 5mg provera (medroxyprogesterone) pills. Will this regulate my periods and can I conceive after using them?

Not a fertility drug: Irregular cycles mean you're not ovulating regularly. Provera (medroxyprogesterone) won't make you ovulate or help you to conceive but may induce bleeding. See a reproductive endocrinologist for tests to find out why you're irregular - polycystic ovarian sydrome (pcos), underactive thyroid, excess prolactin hormone, aging of the ovary (diminished ovarian reserve), or low hormone levels (hypogonadism) - and treatment. ...Read more

I have irregular menstruations (after every 3 months or so), can I plan a pregnancy if I am taking birth control pills to regulate my menses?

I have irregular menstruations (after every 3 months or so), can I plan a pregnancy if I am taking birth control pills to regulate my menses?

Depends.: If you are having menses every 3 months because you are on birth control - then once you stop the bc, if your menses are monthly/regular, then you can plan & try to conceive. If your menses are irregular when not taking birth control (esp if you are having them every 3 mos w/o bc) then it will be very hard to know if/when you are ovulating and harder to try to conceive.Probaly not ovulating if so. ...Read more
