Not so much, but...: Hi. I'm sorry you were so sick. I hope your well on the road to recovery. High blood sugars, per se, don't have much effect on periods, but severe illness certainly can. Probably not: Insulin and C-peptide levels are mainly helpful in trying to figure out if someone with diabetes has type 1 or type 2 or in the evaluation of low blood glucosie. I have diabetes and my sugars have been high but I am not on anything for my diabetes I have also lost 20 pounds?
If your not a diabetic how high is your sugar suppose to go right after you eat I know your not suppose to take right after?
Post meal glucose: If your glucose goes above 200 you may be concerned. However, a lot depends on the sugar content of the meal, and how fast your GI tract digests/absorbs the carbohydrate. In a glucose tolerance test (75 grams of pure glucose), the 30 min glu may be high, but it comes down quickly and by 2 hr is less than 140 in normal people. ...Read more

Be Mindful/Control y:
Behaviors can be hard to change. But they can be changed with practicing mindfulness and with determination.
So first you have to learn to control your emotions... Learn that each of your actions has consequences. So before you act, ask yourself: is this action right or wrong? So before you put food in your mouth ask this question each time. This requires presence of mind, also called mindfulness. ...Read more

Is high blood sugars always a sign of diabetes? In other words a my high blood sugars be high and I don't have diabetes?
High sugars=diabetes: I hear you when you ask "do i really have diabetes?" but the definition of diabetes is elevated blood sugars. The cause of the elevated sugars is either the inability of Insulin to get your sugars out of the blood circulation into your cells -insulin resistance — or from failure of the pancreas to produce enough insulin. The elevated sugars can do damage so just use it as a life challenge. ...Read more

Meds, see your family dr. About the proper pills. ...Read more

Depends: Hi. Kind of tricky question. If your type 1 and don't have insulin on board, the muscle is in a catabolic (break-down) state, and you wouldn't build muscle. If your type 1 with insulin on board, but just had a bunch of sugar so your BG's high, then yes, you could build muscle. Type 2 is more variable, but it still comes down to whether muscle is in a catabolic state or not in hyperglycemia. ...Read more
Pass the peas please: Though peas contain carbohydrate, their high fiber and protein content slow digestion. This results in moderating blood glucose levels.
