Overweight (Definition)

Nearly two-thirds of the United States population is overweight. There are many ways to determine if a person is overweight, but experts believe that a person's body mass index (BMI) is the best way to assess an adult's weight in relation to their height. * A BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is considered normal. * Adults with a BMI between 25 and 29.9 are considered overweight. There are exceptions. For example, an athlete may have a higher BMI but not be overweight. * Adults with a BMI greater than 30 are considered obese. * Adults with a BMI greater than or equal to 40 are considered extremely obese. * Anyone more than 100 pounds overweight is considered morbidly obese. A person with a high BMI may have a normal amount of body fat is they have ...Read more

You can't: Lose that much weight in that short a time unless you burned off more than 26, 000 calories that you didn't ingest. That's the equivalent of running for 26, 000 miles. What you lost was water, it's the only thing you can gain or lose that fast without liposuction. ...Read more

Sleep disturbances : Yes it could be sleep apnea. Get evaluated by a sleep doctor to determine if a sleep study should be performed. Klonopin (clonazepam) is not necessarily unsafe for sleep apnea but central nervous system medications/depressants in general can affect sleep and also breathing during sleep. But it may be necessary to use this medication so do not discontinue it without checking with the prescriber. ...Read more

I'm 24 and overweight. My heart rate has been about 106 resting for hours. I have a headache today also. Do this require a visit to the ER?

106: heart rate can go up for many reasons and stressors on the body like pain can easily make it go up. Dehydration is a common cause as well. Unless your headache is severe (worst of your life)and came on suddenly like a thunderclap or associated stiff neck, fever, vomiting or other neurological changes ER probably not necessary. Would drink extra fluid take some acetaminophen see pcp am ...Read more
