No lemons 4 asthma: Hi eblackman9, lemon juice is not recognized to treat asthma. In fact, there are very few "natural substances" that can. Putting aside 'placebo effect', asthma needs prevention, treatment and follow up. Avoid pollens and fumes, pretreat before exercise, treat your allergies, use your medications as prescribed, and see your doctor regularly. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Very rarely: While a bad gallbladder attack may make you feel like you want to die it is rarely fatal. Every year over 500, 000 gallbladder removal operations are done in the us for gallbladder related pain. Some are severely infected. Rarely a patient with a poorly functioning immune system has difficulty fighting the infection and dies. The vast majority recover quickly and get on with life. ...Read more

I suffer from painful reflux & have heard apple cider vinegar tablets can help prevent or treat reflux? Is this true?
Not likely to do so: Prune juice has quite a bit of fibers and roughage and is known to help with constipation. It may not have the best of taste, but i don't believe it causes any harm unless you are allergic to it. Ripe plumps are really good--yum yum. Otc products such as azo can help reducing bladder infection symptoms but will not treat it. So if you have trouble, consult doc for eval/treatment. Good luck. ...Read more

Can someone do an enema with apple cider vinegar diluted in water to help get rid of a stomach virus faster?
Probably not.: No study has been done to answer this question so I have to answer no. In a patient with known coronary artery disease, there is no substitute for regular follow up with a cardiologist that you know and trust. Setting up a treatment and prevention plan - and following it - is a must to reduce your risk of future problems. ...Read more
Is frozen purple grape juice, apple juice and peppermint tea ok to drink for ulcer. Ipeppermint tea seems to calm tummy but some say bad for ulcer?
Probably OK: I see no problem with grape and apple juice, though i strongly recommend organic juices as both conventional grapes and apples are high in pesticides. The only reference i found re: ulcers says it should not be used in stomach ulcers because it lowers esophageal sphincter pressure, but i don't see why that would be bad for an ulcer. Many authorities claim peppermint tea is good for ulcers. ...Read more
Poor choice: Occasional constipation responds best to a real laxative such as milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide). Frequent constipation should prompt a check for thyroid disease and porphyria; if it's new, a check for colon cancer is of course indicated. If no medical cause is found, get some good advice on diet and drinking enough water. Best wishes. ...Read more

Banana, garlic, lemons(calamansi), tomatoes, and honey are found to cure hypertension or help lower risk. If used as a mixed juice, can this still cure?
Hypertension: "help lower risk" is very different from "cure hypertension." some juices may be healthy when they contain antioxidants, like garlic. You really need to keep a close watch on your blood pressure, because even without symptoms it can still be high and affecting your organs (like blood vessels, heart, brain, and kidneys, etc). Please work with your doctor, and don't rely on juices alone. ...Read more
Hi, I like to ask, can we get red from gallbladder stone by natural treatment :Apple juice & Epsom Salt, Olive oil & Orange juice, any risk in this?
Time: Time. There is a medication called Donnatal (phenobarbital atropine hyoscyamine and scopolamine) however, that can help. This is only a temporary solution. Definitive treatment is surgical removal of the gallbladder, typically done with a technique known as laparoscopy, using small incisions and a camera. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Avoidance: Best to treat the problem & avoid the attacks. Avoid fried fatty greasy foods. Take something like Ibuprofen if having discomfort. If the pains continue and you have gallstones, see your doctor for a referral to a general surgeon for laparoscopic surgery to remove the gallbladder & gallstones. If the pain is bad and having a lot of vomiting, you may need to go to an er for evaluation. ...Read more
My last gallbladder attack was sunday 11pm since then I've had pain. Very tender to touch. No fever a bit of nausea. Pain relief in certain positions?
Cholecystitis: Typically right upper abdominal pain as you described would be evaluated with liver lab tests and an ultrasound. I recommend semi-urgent/urgent medical evaluation, especially if you know you have gallstones. If cholecystitis is diagnosed, surgery would likely be recommended. There are other causes which can often be diagnosed with few tests. ...Read more

Should you go to hospital when having a gallbladder attack? I'm confused as what to do the pain is so bad but can they do anything?
After Gallbladder attack I have constipation and my Gallbladder feels swollen when I lay down but it does not cause any pain. Never had this before.
Call your PCP as U: may need to be seen or examined sooner than you think. You don't want pain, as it means you have to go to the ER, and if other signs persist that show you need surgical intervention, then you'll be laid up in the process. So, see your PCP for evaluation, and get in and be examined, and seen. Don't delay! ...Read more

Pain meds, time.: Gallbladder pain is almost always due to blockage of the outflow of bile from the gallbladder due to a stone. Usually, the obstructing stone will "fall back" into the gallbladder within an hour or so, leading to complete resolution of the pain.
