I just had a colonoscopy , dr found a protrusion in colon he thinks it's an inverted appendix , took biopsy tobe sure, is this bad? Just worried.

It was the right --: Thing to do. The biopsy result will confirm what it is and your surgeon will discuss it with you then. Worry would not make things any better. I believe your surgeon is doing everything right. Good luck. ...Read more

Had colonoscopy two days ago with biopsy of mass protruding from appendix thru cecum. I have pain. Level 5 should I go to er?

Yes, yes: And tell them all of the above, best to go to the er where your colonoscopy and endoscopist are. Be sure to have them notify the gi/colorectal doctor if you already have not called them. Perforation of the cecum is a strong possibility. Also stay npo until evaluated. Do not eat or drink anything and do not take aspirin/nsaids. ...Read more

B12 deficient & having stomach pain not my appendix. Ileum related? Will it be seen on upcoming colonoscopy? A cause for concern at this point?

Severe pain and cramps below belly button, bad diarrhea and bloody stool. Had my appendix removed and colonoscopy but no results. Become very gassy.

Severe pain and cramps below belly button, bad diarrhea and bloody stool. Had my appendix removed and colonoscopy but no results. Become very gassy.

Post operative IBS: I would recommend having stool checked on 3 seperate days to rule out parasitic and bacterial infection. If colonoscopy is negative you need an endoscopy and capsule endoscopy to evaluate for Crohn's disease. I would also start a Gluten Free diet. Ie Gutbliss.com. Or WholeApproach.com and a good probiotic. ...Read more

How long ago?: did the pain that seemed like appendicitis happen a year ago? Generally a biopsy is done during the colonscopy, and should return in a few days. the " findings" could be benign or associated with infection. Do you still have pain? If so, consult with a practioner. ...Read more

Inflammation: typically this would mean that the area around your appendix looked inflamed at your colonoscopy, and they took biopsies. are the biopsies back yet? did you have appendicitis recently? most of the time, this is fairly nonspecific and does not require followup. ...Read more

I had my appendix surgery 3 years back since then i have similar pain in my operated area
and vomiting. appendiceal opening still seen in colonscopy?

Hernia/scar/adhesion: Pain at scar site may be from a small incisional hernia, scar itself, lacerated nerve etc. appendiceal opening can still be seen if a small stump was left behind at time of operation. Vomiting is most likely not related to that operation unless you have adhesions causing obstruction. CT scan may provide further information. ...Read more

Does "lesion near cecum " found from colonscopy suggest appendix protruding mass? Having CT scan. GI doc says it's most likely benign.

R.O malignancy: A number of different lesions develop within the bowel including the region of the cecum in close proximity to the appendix. When lesion "non defined" seen both on colonoscopy and by CT scan, a histologic dx needed. Lesion may range from adenoma, to malignant polyp to adenocarcinoma to GIST to carcinoid and probably requires resection even if AP based, Bowel lesions rarely left untreated. ...Read more
