What could cause a litte bleeding for one day(not period),and after some days the same event?Could stress and anxiety do that & even delay nxt period?

I had protected penetrative sex for the first time right before my period was expected. I started spotting two days before sex , and continued for 3 days after. Now there's no sign of it. Could this delay it? Worrying is worsening my anxiety.

Many : Pregnancy, anovulation, peri-menopause, hormone manipulation (ocps, depo-provera, etc), premature ovarian failure (pof), stress, poly cystic ovaries (pco, stein-leventhal syndrome), prolonged follicular phase, or just a normal variant. Oral contraceptive: Talk to your family doc or gynecologist about your oral contraceptive. When taking traditional birth control pills, the active ones are usually the 1st 3wks' worth while the last week's are placebo or sugar pills. You can delay your period by skipping your sugar pills & starting your next month's pack as soon as you finish the previous month. Best to discuss this w/your family doc before doing so. ...Read more
With hormones.: You can take birth control pills continually or by skipping the "inactive" pills for one cycle. Sometimes it can be withdrawn early with progestins to adjust timing of the cycle.
