Can frequent heart palpitations damage your heart or cause problems? I'm getting them every couple of minutes. I should add I have bad anxiety
Heart palpitations: It's so common to have heart palpitations, everyone has them. They do not cause damage. Sometimes we feel them, sometimes we don't. They are more important when we are monitoring people who are suffering ongoing heart disease. If you have had a normal heart exam and EKG to evaluate this, you're probably going to be fine. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Is it possible for clonazepam to cause anxiety and heart palpitations and panick at night? Anything is possible right?
Highly unlikely: Unless you happen to have untreated sleep apnea and lost significant oxygen from the respiratory suppression of the Clonazepam and then awakened with a gasping arousal that then went on to trigger your panic. If this happened to you then you should see your family doc for a referral to a sleep specialist. Best wishes. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Why do diet pills and sugar blockers cause me heart palpitations and anxiety. These were prescribed by a doc. Should i continue?
Diet pills: You did not say what diet pills you are taking but many are similar to amphetamines, which can cause increased heart rate & blood pressure. Some people are very sensitive to amphetamines & need a smaller dose. Also, they are contraindicated in people w/ cardiac problems or who have a family history cardiac problems. Perhaps another doc can address the "sugar blockers" part of your question. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Can heart palpitations caused by anxiety and panic disorder be dangerous? I had ecg, echo and a 24 hour holter check out ok with 20+ PVC shown.
Palpitations: Can be caused by panic and anxiety disorders. But people suffering with panic and anxiety disorders can also have other common medical disorders manifested by palpitations. A simple ecg, echocardiogram and holter monitor do not adequately determine completely normal cardiac function. If they persist you need to pursue an explanation but with your doctor. Shoulder pain, jaw pain, left arm pain, pain in heart, palpitations, on and off allday.. Can't be caused by anxiety/stress- even when relaxed? Surely?
Muscle burning, fatigue, heavy legs, heart palpitations, gerd, malaise lasts for mos. diagnosed with ptsd and panic disorder. anxiety cause these symptoms? My doc sees no blood test abnormalities.
Yes, but: Stress is a complex biology that produces many "non-specific" (vague, little on tests) symptoms. The symptoms you mention are within the spectrum of symptoms seen in chronic stress biology; but, that does not prove it is the cause for you. Since it has been going on for months and tests negative, stress a likely cause. Mechanisms complex and not simple to understand. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Heart palpitations for 3 days. Anxiety for a day and a half of it. Was worried so i started counting them. I had 20+ of them in 35 minutes. Worry?
Palpitation among: Young people is usually not serious and your anxiety likely triggers it. See your dr and get checked. Have an ekg and possibly a 24 hour holter monitoring done. Almost any: There are many older, cheaper, effective beta blockers that will work for both problems: atenolol, metoprolol, propranolol. The newer, brand-name meds like bystolic (nebivolol) are "selective" regarding beta-1 and beta-2 receptors, and so may not be as effective as the older, tried, and true meds. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Earlier i had heart palpitations then right after i had an anxiety attack now it won't go away what do I do and should I worry?
See a doctor: Anxiety or panic attacks and heart attacks can have very similar symptoms. The description of persisting symptoms is atypical for a classic panic attach, which tends to peak quicly and dissipate within 15-20 minutes or so. What you should do depends on diagnosis, which only an examination can do - with cardiac symptoms generally immediate and prompt evaluation is needed. Dont mess around c a doc. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Due to anxiety, I have been getting frequent heart palpitations where it feels like my heart flutters. Is this dangerous to my heart?
Not necessarily: Palpitations are a sign that the heart is getting more stimulation from the adrenaline surges that happen in anxiety or panic attacks. Very normal physiologic response. Prolonged surges over years could affect the heart, but at 21 years of age it is very unlikely. If u feel your skipping beats or being irregular u should seek medical help by seeing a doctor. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
