The only medications for viral illness are those that are used to treat the symptoms (such as tylenol (acetaminophen) if she is uncomfortable from the fever). Azithromycin?: Probably azithromycin. It's not the best choice for gonorrhea; it's used mainly against chlamydia. For gonorrhea, azithro usually is in addition to a shot of ceftriaxone. A large enough dose (2 grams) usually works for gonorrhea, however. But for either infection, vomiting at 20 minutes means not enough drug will be absorbed; you'll need additional treatment.
