4 month old son is projectile vomiting. Has a cough and runny nose. He's on an antibiotic. Its not plyoric stenosis. Last time (2months) had same thing?

He sounds: Miserable! I'm sorry to hear your baby is vomiting. Cough and runny nose doesn't usually need antibiotics, and there are some that we avoid because they can increase the risk of pyloric stenosis (erythromycin.) You need to make sure you keep his nose clear to keep him from coughing and vomiting (saline, bulb syringe). If he looks dry, starts making fewer wet diapers, call your pediatrician. ...Read more

I had gonorrhea I took the 4 pills to treat it but I threw up about 10-20 mins later am I ok? Should I request another 4 antibiotic pills?

Azithromycin?: Probably azithromycin. It's not the best choice for gonorrhea; it's used mainly against chlamydia. For gonorrhea, azithro usually is in addition to a shot of ceftriaxone. A large enough dose (2 grams) usually works for gonorrhea, however. But for either infection, vomiting at 20 minutes means not enough drug will be absorbed; you'll need additional treatment. Return to the doctor or clinic. ...Read more
