Depends: The commonly used antibiotics do not cause organ damage but the dose may need be adjusted if the particular organ has been impaired. There is no drug (or food) which is 100% safe but generally speaking those in the macrolide group (Z pak (azithromycin) etc) have the lowest side effect profile even though erythromycin may cause GI upset in a small % of people. ...Read more

No, if used properly: Antibiotics are excellent in treating infections! visit a physician when you think you have an infection (fever, chills, abscesses) - only certain antibiotics treat certain bacteria, your doc might run some tests before they give you an rx. Do not try to self treat with antibiotics: it can be dangerous to you and it can induce resistance from the bacteria if you take it unnecessarily. ...Read more

Can do.: Don't do vigorous work ups. Exercise in moderation is ok . Always drink enough water while on antibiotics as some of the antibiotics are excreted through kidneys. Too aggressive workups , can leak muscles proteins from skeletal ms and if you don't drink enough water , the ms proteins can potentially clog up your kidney tubules. Similaly some abx can cause diarrhoea as side effect, hence drink well. ...Read more
