Can Anthesia Cause Pac
What is causing pvcs/pacs from slouching, lying down, quickly standing or stopping. They've been cleared benign but what's causes this from these stance?
Usually : no cause: In the majority of cases, no cause can be found. That said, check your electrolytes for deficiency: magnesium and potassium. Avoid stimulants: nicotine and caffeine. Check thyroid (TSH). Get plenty of rest. Avoid stress. If all those fail, they'll either go away by themselves (they often do) or you'll need medication to help. ...Read more
Never: Pacs and pvcs never can cause sudden death which is due to ventricular fibrillation or asystole. The substrate for those is serious, underlying structural heart disease such as occurs during or after heart attacks or with rare congenital diseases (like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or long qt syndrome). ...Read more
What causes PACs >6 months after ablation for AVNRT in someone who didn't experience them frequently prior to procedure?
Can PVCs and PACS be caused by extra adrenalin? Got dysautonomia and standing increases adrenalin and HR levels. If it does are they harmful?
Possible: The extra heartbeats and the rapid heartbeat could be related to adrenaline, which may be in response to your dysautonomia. You may need to consider having your physician have you see a cardiologist if he is any question. From what you're telling me this is not anything dangerous. Your physician should help clarify the setting. ...Read more
I can purposely cause bigeminy PACS and pauses when going from standing to soon as I lay down. Know this from palps and viewing Alivecor. Any ideas?
PAC's: Probably NOT a good thing to be doing this. And as to why you are having these - I would make an appointment with your doctor for labs and an EKG. While PAC's are generally benign - the ability to cause them needs to be assessed as it may mean you can cause other arrythmias which could be lethal. Get yourself checked out ...Read more
History of svt, pvc's, pac's in the past. It had been years. Now had svt 2 weeks ago and a lot of pvc or pacs past 2 days. Cause for concern?
SVT needs evaluation: You know many words like SVT, but unclear if you have been diagnosed. Best diagnosed by a cardiologist or EP cardiologist. Diagnosis is important for proper medical treatment. Do you take any meds? Could it be that you have an electrolyte imbalance? You should make an appointment with a cardiologist and get a Holter and Echo and have your electrolytes tested as well (blood test). ...Read more

I'm 27 & have mild/occasional acid reflux with certain food, not on any med. Is there really a need for me to get a upper endoscopy, only reason I even went to GI is trying to find the cause of my PACs but no dr seems to think its related anyways...
My ep prescribed flecainide for my benign pvcs/pacs. Should I get a 2nd opinion cause I'm scared to take a heart med for something that's "benign"?
PVCs: I'd recommend discussing the treatment with your ep and ask the question you did here. Benign pvcs are generally treated if they bother the patient enough that the patient desires to have them decreased to improve quality of life. The ep may have a specific reason......Don't be afraid to ask your doctors for information. ...Read more

Achy dull chest pain every once in a while lasting no more than 5 mins. Pacs and pvcs at times. Md said not enough water or stress caused it. Ekg norml?
Not heart.: Achy dull CP occurring without relation to exertion at your age with normal ekg is not very likely to be related to the heart. Extra beats are perfectly normal at your age and as long as they suppress with exercise are of no consequence. At the end of the day you have chest pain without an identified cause. Musculoskeletal pain in the chest wall, esophageal irritation are most common causes. ...Read more

I hve premature atrial contractions, which Ik aren't serious. But sometimes I have small sharp pains in my upper chest, right below collarbone. Cause?
I was dx with pacs 3yrs ago, I go weeks without having one before they flare up I had prob 4-5 within 10-15 secs this morning, usually only notice 1-2 maybe 3 during a "episode" read my med history, should I worry, seems it starts certain ways I move?
PACs: Full evaluation of PACs, in my opinion, consists of a 12 lead ekg, 24 hour Holter Monitor, echocardiogram and treadmill stress test. This would look for structural heart disease, determine the effect of strenuous exertion and determine the severity of the atrial irritability and type of advisable treatment, if any, I also recommend abstinence of caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine. I think I have pacs. I know they are benign but is there an upper limit as to how many per minute are considered ok/normal?
Not really.: Pac's are benign without an upper limit. Pacs vary in frequency depending upon the state of your nervous and chemical input to the heart. The slower your heart rate gets the more time between beats and the greater the opportunity for and extra beat to slip in. When you exercise or your heart rate speeds up they should disappear. ...Read more

Almost everyone gets PVCS and PACS but why do they happen? Why once you feel them you become so scared of them?
Ectopy: Premature beats could be a random, nonspecific electrical activity, others could relate to strain to the heart or a pathology -- so they can be benign or pathologic, and required further testing and treatment. ...Read more
