Lump in belly button. Slight abdominal pain around the area. Umbilical hernia? I have doctors appointment in about 24 hours. Safe to wait until then?
Possible and Yes: It is possible that this is an umbilical hernia. If you can easily reduce it, meaning easily push it back in, then you can safely wait until you see your doctor tomorrow. If the pain worsens, or becomes constant, that may represent an estrangulated hernia, which is not reducible, and would require more immediate attention. ...Read more
Umbilical hernia 5 years ago. Since repair constant abdominal pain at repair site. Reoccurring low grade fever. How do I no if mesh is infected? Neg ct
Need more info: Mesh infections typically present with skin changes at the site of repair. If the overlying wound is perfectly healed, it's unlikely. Ct scans can sometimes detect fluid around the mesh which would suggest infection. Most mesh infections are with staph epidermidis which is a slow-indolent bacteria. I am assuming the neg ct didn't show a recurrence which could account for the pain you have. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

What should I do to repair my para-umbilical hernia itself naturally, and what time it requires to repair 2 to 3 CM hole in internal abdomen wall?

I advise hernia repair if it is causing symptoms that are interfering with one's quality of life, or if the hole is so large that there is the potential for intestine to get stuck. ...Read more

Hope this helps! ...Read more
I have pain in my left side, ribs to belly button and sometimes in my back. I do have an umbilical hernia. Could the hernia be the cause of my pain?
I wouldn't think so: Loose belly muscles help a developing baby by allowing easy blood flow thru the umbilical cord ; into babies body. I find girls more likely to need repair than boys? Reason. I rarely refer for repair. ...Read more
