Food poisoning maybe: Your symptoms are too nonspecific, but the timing of symptoms (and lack of refrigeration of pre-cooked food) sure supports an expectation of food poisoning. Should pass, but if distress persists, or is accompanied by bleeding, worsening pain, lightheadedness, or development of vomiting or fever, then get a good examination with appropriate testing for reassurance and/or treatment. ...Read more

On the mend?: Depending upon the nature of your food poisoning, particularly if an invasive bacteria was involved, you can experience post-infectious irritability (some use the term post-infectious irritable bowel syndrome). Chills: Yes. Chills occur when there is a discrepancy between the ambient atmospheric temperature and that of the surface of the skin. If the skin temp is lower, the body's thermostat will try to increase the temperature by chilling which is muscular and raises the temp. Small intestines: Lesions in the small intestine are difficult to diagnose and often the patient has to swallow a camera like capsule to demonstrate it. DGL licorice: Although an ulcer is one possible cause of your pain, there are many other potential causes also. DGL licorice would not cause your pain to resolve even if your pain is due to an ulcer. Your best bet is to see your doctor for a diagnosis of the cause of your pain. In the meantime, try omeprazole 10mg each morning. Do not take this for longer than two weeks without a diagnosis. Possible gallbladder: Having pain in upper abdoen that radiates to the back or shoulders and occurrs after meals will most likely end up being gallbladder disease.
