Could stomach ulcers cause chest pain and shoulder pain? I've been having random chest pain and they said I have stomach ulcers

Yes: Stomach and GI pains can easily be 'referred' to different parts of the chest - the abdomen is 'wired' with more neurons than the brain and can definitely cause pain in unusual areas - advil (ibuprofen) and testosterone are drugs that can contribute to ulcerative diseases. ...Read more

For a few months now i've been experiencing chest pain on the right side. I suffer from abdominal ulcers and thought that I should have a endoscopy do?

Probably not heart: Considering your age its unlikely the heart. But a full physical and and detailed history with an ekg and labs would be good to asess the problem and use for future comparison. Other non cardiac causes need to ruled out. I agree you should follow up with your GI dr and get evaluated and poss egd. ...Read more

62 year old f w/ chest pain 3 wks, chills 3 mos and sweating. Ekgs, echo and cts normal. Ulcers treated for 5 mos. Any thoughts?

Gastroenterologist: 3 weeks of chills and sweats are a concern. Apparently your heart and lungs have checked out ok. Perhaps a gastroenterologist should evaluate your esophagus. I assume you also had a complete physical exam and extensive blood and urine testing through your physician. Has a treadmill stress test been done as well to evaluate your chest discomfort or does he/she feel the chest pains are not cardiac? ...Read more

Constant acid refulux for 3 years , stomach/navel burning , chest pain and loss of appetite and stool streaking with blood. Possible stomach ulcer?

Constant acid refulux for 3 years , stomach/navel burning , chest pain and loss of appetite and stool streaking with blood. Possible stomach ulcer?

Possible: See a doctor soon. Seeing red blood on your stool usually means 2 possible things: it is coming from a stomach or small intestine rapidly bleeding ulcer, or it is coming from a lower source like a hemorrhoid (if you're constipated this is likely it). Rarer inflammatory causes exist too. If you've had acid for many years you are at risk for an ulcer, you should be taking an acid-blocking medicine. ...Read more

Clear EKG (6 times), Chest Xray, Echo, Stress Test, Endoscopy (small ulcer), Ultrasound - Still chest pain and shortness of breath, even hard to sleep. Worried it is still my heart. Lungs sound good. Really just tired of all pain.

Given the thorough: evaluation you have had, it is unlikely that your symptoms are cardiac in nature. A small ulcer was found suggesting a GI source for your symptoms. It sounds like some counseling might help you to deal with the chronicity of your problem. ...Read more

Need more info: Chest pain may be due to musculo-skeletal cause, acid reflux, lung or heart disease, esophageal disease and more. It would require taking a detailed history, physical examination may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a primary care doctor for an evaluation. If you are overweight, it would help to lose weight. ...Read more
