Can a ruptured hemorrhagic ovarian cyst cause blood in stool? Is this something that I should worry about? I was told the cyst would resolve itself.

No!!

A ruptured ovarian cyst will not give bloody stool. You have another problem and this my be more serious than the ovarian problem. See and discuss with your doctor immediately or see a colorectal surgeon or GI doctor. Please do not ignore this situation.

The ovarian cyst, vaginal spotting, and blood in stool are all independent most likely. See your gyn to see if you have hemorrhoids

Dr. John D. Gordon answered:

Can an ovarian cyst on the right side cause pain on the left side with diarrhea ( foul smell yellow) cramps, chills. Blood work and ct scan are ok?

Seems Unlikely

I would think that the pain would be on the same side as the cyst. Your symptoms sound more GI in nature and the cyst may be just an incidental finding on the CT. Remember that all regular cycling women will produce one cyst each month (usually <2.5 cm) and that is the special cyst that has an egg inside.

What's the longest you can go w/out your period cause of an ovarian cyst? 10 days late. (-) preg. results (blood&urine)

Dif problems

Ovarian cysts don't cause irregular periods although it is certainly possible to have both problems. A sonogram can confirm resolution of the ovarian cysts. While you are at the Obgyn office you can discuss irregular periods and options for cycle control.

Could it have been an Ovarian Cyst? 47 yo female, in perimenopause. Been experiencing dull pressue in left lower abdomen for about a week, beginning right after ending a period. Last evening, experienced a small amount of pink (blood) upon wiping after u

Yes,

Yes, that could very well be an ovarian cyst. Cysts often cause pressure, then a sudden pain. Taking Advil can often help. They usually resolve on their own. If there is any chance of pregnancy, then the patient should take a pregnancy test to rule out other causes. Be sure and tell your doctor about your symptoms or see them earlier if your symptoms worsen. Cysts are also more common during peri-menopause.

When your gyn checks you for an ovarian cyst and then asks you to take a blood test for ca-125. is that a bad sign?

CA 125 - Why check?

Cancer antigen 125 (CA-125) is not a screening test for ovarian cancer. It is an adjunctive test for measuring tumor response (ie, a tumor marker) for Pts w/ known ovarian cancer. It isn't perfect even when we know someone has ovarian cancer. In the appropriate clinical setting -- eg an abnormal ovary on imaging it might help determine if a mass is benign or malignant, but again is not perfect.

Dr. David Earle answered:

I have an ovarian cyst and I now have stomach pain and loose stools/diarrhea and nautious is my cyst causing that or is that from my hyena hernia?

Nonspecific

Abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea are fairly nonspecific symptoms. They could be due to a variety of GI problems, most of which however are probably functional. While a hiatal hernia isn't anatomic problem that can cause some functional problems, this is usually related to difficulty eating, chest pain, anemia, or reflux symptoms. You could see your primary care provider to try to sort this out. Best of luck!
