Hard to connect: Psoas and piriformis are quite far away from the inguinal hernia repair. More likely to be separate pathology. Need more investigation into back. ...Read more

Usually these things occur together in something like Chlamydia infection and/or gonorrhea. Hernia: Anytime hernia get repaired, there is some weakening of the canal and so your old repair may be letting a new hernia through. Be careful with lifting heavy weights and check with the surgeon who did the original operation. He'd be the one who'd know for sure. ...Read more

Hydrate/stool soften: Make sure you stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of fluid - about 2L per day, especially while recovering from surgery. If you are taking narcotic pain medication, you should also take a stool softener which may help, such as colace (docusate sodium). And most of all, don't worry, the poop will come out soon.
