I: I am not aware of a direct correlation between hyperthyroidism and blood in stool in humans. However, people with hyperthyroidism may have loose or liquid stools as well as more frequent bowel movements. If this was the case, theoretically if could cause irritation which could lead to some bleeding. With that said, you can not assume that is the case. The reason for what appears to be blood mixed in with your stool needs to be evaluated. I recommend that you discuss this with your doctor as this is likely a separate issue. I hope that this is helpful. ...Read more

I have gained weight and leptin is high. How do I lower my leptin hormone? Is there any medicine? Should I go to an endocrinologist?

Leptin up if obese: Leptin goes up with obesity. Normally, a high leptin means you are full and you are not hungry. More likely: A bariatric specialist. As while there are hormonal issues that can contribute to weight gain - really hypothyroidism - you don't have to see an endocrinologist for this, your primary care doctor can help determine if you have any thyroid problems that require specialist care. My endocrinologist told me I am no longer prediabetic so I am excited because im loosing weight but my testosterone is high. What can I do? Ihave pcos

Congratulations!: Great work on reversing your pre-diabetes! For high testosterone, it depends on what you're treating for. Combined hormonal birth control may be a helpful additional treatment, as well as losing weight. All have risks and benefits, consult your endocrinologist. ...Read more

If I only have one ovary. Would it be wise to see an endocrinologist?

Not critical: One ovary can work well in most circumstances. Certainly if pregnancy is desired, then it may be wise to seek consultation with a reproductive endocrinologist as there is decreased fertility in this situation. If family building is complete and there are no problems per se, then endocrinology consultation is not needed.
