Starting generic zoloft (sertraline). Worried about side effects-nausea and upset stomach. Is it ok to take promethazine for nausea/vomiting and pepto for stomach?
I have Gastroparis taking 10 mg 3 times a day not helping with nausea, so i take 10mg of PROMETHAZINE IN THE MORNING IS THIS SAFE?

Depends on variables: If you think you can contain your nausea for at least an hour, the pill form is a likely better choise.Rectal absorbtion is erratic and may take hours to be in your sysytem, while the oral form would already be working. Caution with meds: This is not a good idea. Using promethazine together with meclizine may increase side effects such as drowsiness, blurred vision, dry mouth, difficulty urinating, abdominal cramping, constipation, rapid heart beat, confusion, etc. All three of those drugs work for nausea -so you must be quite miserable.
