The emergence of strains of gonorrhea resistant to the penicillin group of meds in the late 70s make this a poor choice. Amoxicillin may have some effect on the gc and is rarely used for chlamydia. The standard treatment for a dual infection is doxycycline+azithromycin.

If dosed right: Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) would help kill off some strains of gonorrhea, but not all. It would likely do nothing for chlamydia and many other STI's. Shouldn't: In fact amoxicillen used to be the alternate to doxycycline for treatment of chlamydia in pregnancy and still is if allergic to zithromax. All those antibiotcs however if taken close together likely would result in a yeast infection. Also, ask for a test of cure a couple weeks after zithromax and no sex with your partner(s) until he/they are all treated. ...Read more
