Can Altabax Be Used On A Dog
Sure: The safety of an antibiotic has little or nothing to do with the infection it is being used to treat. Doxycycline is a safe antibiotic that has been in regular use for 40-50 years. It and related drugs (e.g. minocycline) are regularly used to control acne and certain other skin conditions. It isn't the usual antibiotic for recurrent folliculitis, but likely would be effective. ...Read more

Opinions on gel used to treat postoperative scarring produced by a compounding pharmacy? Fluticasone is an ingredient. How long can it be used on face?
Silicone sheeting?: I'm a bit nervous to use topical steroids for too long in any part of the body, and the face is much scarier to me. Have you considered trying silicone sheeting like scaraway or similar and having the patient cut to size and use them all day except while bathing for 6-8 weeks? Less risky in my mind, and can have some nice results. And way cheaper, as well. ...Read more
Can topical corticosteroids be used while on the Obagi Nu-Derm system? if so, at what step should it be applied?
Yes: The idea is that HC should be used sparingly if at all. Decreasing the frequency of the retin-a portion and/or the hydroquinone portion is best & restarting more slowly. For fastest results there is a lot of redness and peeling (it looked like a blizzard under my chair) but slowing the process to make it more tolerable is the solution. Using HC too much defeats the purpose. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

No no no!: Acne medications can be very irritating to open wounds. Cipro (ciprofloxacin) at 750 mg twice a day for 6 weeks is recommended if there is bone infection. At first onset of the puncture, lesser doses may be used and other antibiotics may be chosen. This would also depend on your age and condition. This injury should be seen by your doctor and treated appropriately. ...Read more
Can vitamin C powder be applied directly on skin? If not, how many % should it be used for skin care?
Yes? Why Should You?: Marketing/promotion is very commonly unrelated to justification/efficacy, other than noise, buz, profits for the sellers. Even the linus pauling institute (linus pauling started the popular idea about special benefits for vitamin c decades ago based on no scientific evidence; only 1 person's theory), does not support any evidence that what you are asking about makes any sense; look it up. ...Read more
