Can Allergies Cause Blurred Vision
Dx - optic nerve hyperemia. Blurred vision in left eye for more than a year. Possible causes? Can be from use of Zaditor (ketotifen) for allergies?
Ophthalmologist: Make sure you see an ophthalmologist for evaluation. You may have congenital blurring of optic disc, disc drusen, hypoplasia, but with the blurred vision, I'd be worried about something different. A year-long history without worsening is not typical of inflammatory optic neuritis. Compression of nerve by tumor? Zaditor™ is not the cause. See an ophthalmologist.
Allergies occur when your immune system is triggered by envirionmental factors it should ignore--for example, pollen in the air, or dander on a cat or dog--and creates cells to fight against them. An allergic reaction typically causes itching, congestion, or drainage, and ...Read more
Bad allergies 2 days. Slightly blurred vision moments that's its slighty harder to breath. Went outside for abit and blood pressure feels higher bpm100?
What would cause eye twitching, and blurry vision in one eye only. Happens daily although its worse during allergy season.
I suffer immensely from allergies. Itchy eyes. Light sensitivity, blurred vision and rapid heart beat. I I don't know what I'm allergic to?
See your doctor: Itchy eyes are a symptom of allergy, and if there are a lot of secretions, this can lead to temporary blurring of vision. But neither light sensitivity nor rapid heart beat are symptoms of an allergic reaction (rapid heart beat only with a severe, life-threatening reaction). You need to see your doctor to get all these symptoms sorted out.See 1 more doctor answer
After eating peanut butter, I have burning eyes, throat/eye swelling, low blood pressure, blurred vision. I have eaten it since a child so no allergy
Anaphylaxis?: It appeared that you had suffered shock from the peanut butter. Although most food allergies developed in childhood, they can also occur in adults. Before you touch peanuts again, be sure to get tested by an allergist. In the meanwhile, you need to carry an epineprhine autoinjector (preferably 2) with you until this issue has been clarified.See 1 more doctor answer
2 hr nap. Slept on hard sofa arm w/ right eye down. Woke with r eye slightly blurry vision for about 20 mins. Allergies gunky eyes today. Concern?
Doc says I have allergy and dry eye. Constant blurry vision and ghosting. Vision does not improve with drops. With glasses still 20/20. What's wrong?
See eye doctor: Allergic eyes only affect vision occasionally but dry eyes often do. Perhaps your vision is blurred because you need something more than just artificial tear but then I don't understand how you could have 20/20 vision if the vision were indeed blurred until this degree of visual acuity is only present intermittently. Please clarify.
I've had a watery eye, pressure, and blurry vision for 6 mo. My eyedoctor and ENT have no answers. I have chronic sinusitis/allergies. Please help.
See an allergist: Your symptoms are consistent with allergic rhinoconjunctivitis / rhinosinusitis or inflammation of your nose, eyes and sinuses due to allergy especially during this season when lots of trees are pollinated. This is a common problem in the us. When medications does not work, you should see an allergist to be evaluated and treated. We are specialized in diagnosing and treating these conditions.
Blurry vision with glasses- monocular diplopia-eye redness-gradual. Doc says allergy, steroid drops did not work. Had brain MRI -clear. What is it?
Number of causes: There are several causes of monocular diplopia, from lens to retinal disorders. It might be valuable for you to be referred to an ophthalmologist who can do a detailed examination of front-of-the-eye to back-of-the-eye potential issues.
18 year-old female with past pseudotumor cerebri and shunt placement, but now has intractable daily headache, emotional lability, slow cognition.....?
My friend is experiencing blurred vision, what causes may be? He has checked his eyesight, it was ok.
Opthamologist: Is a medical doctor who treats diseases of the eye. He/sh can help you determine what the cause is. It may be due to a retinal issue, cataract, or other things. Please ask your friend to get a second opinion or see another type of specialist. Peace and good health.
Absolutely: A hyphema is blood in the aqueous fluid in the front of the eye, and can range from minor to very severe. Any patient with a hyphema (little or big) should have follow up care by an eye doctor to ensure there aren't other issues (elevated eye pressure, damage to the drainage system of the eye, associated trauma to the retina, etc.).See 1 more doctor answer
Usually not: Medrol (methylprednisolone) is commonly given in a short term allocation ('dose pack') which will not disturb the vision. If you are taking it chronically, visual blur can occur as the dose increases or decreases but will not be affected after two months of steady (same) dose. Discuss this with the doctor who prescribed the Medrol (methylprednisolone) if you are having some blur.
Blepharitis: Symptoms and signs includesymptoms and signs include watery eyes, red eyes, gritty, burning sensation, eyelids appear greasy, itchy, red and swollen. Flaking of the skin around the eyes, crusted 7 sticky eyelashes on awakening, frequent blinking, sensitivity to light. If vision is blurred may be secondary but also may suggest need for further exam and diagnosis.See 1 more doctor answer
