I have a hytas hernia Cain it cause upper abdomen pain like I am having especially after alcohol because all the internet says is back and chest pain?

Yes: Most of the time the discomfort is in the mid upper abdomen. In your case reflux itself would cause similar symptoms. Aside from hiatal hernia, a variety of other medical conditions may account for your symptoms, including but not limited to gallbladder disease, intrinsic gastric/ duodenal pathology or liver disease. Cut on alcohol and monitor your symptoms. If persisting mention them to your doc. ...Read more

Cardiac: I recommend that you seek medical attention immediately. No chest pain or symptoms should be viewed lightly even in a young person in your age group. More so I see that you are on two anti-hypertensive regimens, that also adds to my concern. It seems to me that diagnostic work up was began. But if this is not the case please seek medical attention immediately. ...Read more

I have chest pains and pain in my left arm and back till I drink alcohol.... Why does the drinking make me feel normal? I also feel light headed

You need evaluation: I have no idea what the pain is, or why drinking alcohol makes it better, but you need to talk to your doctor. Hypertension in a 22 year old man is distinctly abnormal, and if your doctor has not tested you for more unusual causes of hypertension (coarctation of the aorta, primary hyperaldosteronism, renal artery stenosis and others), you should be tested for these. Talk to him about drinking also. ...Read more

I have been having chest pain since 2005 What can the problm, I don't smoke, no alcohol no heavy works?

Hard to know: Have you been examined and tested by a doctor? That is the first step. Could be a problem with muscles/connective tissue/bones lining the chest wall, chronic inflammation of the lung (infection, autoinflammatory disorder)/heart/or lining, problem with the stomach or esophagus, lymph node, thymus, anxiety and more. You may not have to continue to suffer if a diagnosis can be made. Good luck! ...Read more

Chest pain not heart: It sounds like you have pursued a work-up for the chest pain and it, fortunately, is negative. Glad your risk factors are under control as well. Good job! While 28 years is NOT too young to have a heart attack, with all the information you now know about yourself from the work up and your risk factors, you can be assured that your chest pain is not your heart, I believe. Probably musculoskeletal ...Read more

I've noticed that usually when I have a chest pain, drinking alcohol relievse it till next morning, next morning I feel squeezing chest pain. Why?

Panic attack: You are self medicating panic attacks with alcohol. Alcohol helps as a tranquilizer but is a terrible drug to treat these problems since it depletes serotonin (making you depressed over time) and is too short acting so you feel worse when it wears off. See a psychiatrist who can advise on proper rx of panic disorder. ...Read more

Left sided chest pain hurts to press on, quite localized but worse when drinking alcohol? Could it still be cardiac? Have had normal ECG and echo.

Probably gastritis.: If alcohol makes it worse it's probably GI and not cardiac. Try taking some Pepcid (famotidine) 20mg twice a day for about 6 weeks, and lay off the booze for a while. Hope this helps. ...Read more

What could be the cause of chest pains, I'm only 18 and I get them?

Chest pains: I will presume you are an otherwise healthy female and not a drug user or have congenital heart problems. The 2 most likely reasons for your chest pain would be pleurisy or chest wall/ rib joint inflammation. Pleurisy is an inflammation of the lining of the lung and the inside wall of the chest.
