I've been on metronidazole for a week until yesterday at noon. I also take tri estarylla, I took both meds. I had unprotected sex will I get pregnant?

Probably not: The only antibiotic that has ever been proven to decrease birth-control effectiveness is Rifampin--a drug used to treat tuberculosis. There are theoretic concerns about other antibiotics and you will see these concerns in print all over the internet but In practice, most common antibiotics such as Metronidazole don't affect birth-control effectiveness. Most likely you will not get pregnant!

Metronidazole: Although Metronidazole has been on the market for almost 40 years, its use remains controversial during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Recent evidence has shown, however, that this does not appear to be associated with adverse effects during either pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is not a fun drug to take, and stay away from alcohol while taking it or you will be very ill.

I'm 11 weeks pregnant, my doctor advice me to take metronidazole 500mg 2x aday for my bacteria vaginosis, is it safe for my baby?

Risk/benefit: While most medications cannot be absolutely guaranteed "safe", many medications are considered at low risk and the benefit of treating the underlying disorder is considered beneficial enough to justify a theoretical risk. This is the case with the standard treatment for BV that you described.

Is it safe to take Metronidazole 500mg twice a day for 7 days? For "bacterial vaginosis" at 35 weeks and 4 days pregnant, after a week taking macrobid 100mg for a "suspected UTI"?

Safe in pregnancy: Metronidazole is safe in late pregnancy for both mother and baby. And your doctor wouldn't have prescribed it if s/he didn't think it was safe. But check back with the doc's office if you remain uncertain.

Is metronidazole, injection of ceftriaxone and zithromycin enough to treat PID not caused by an STI? I'm 2 weeks pregnant so can't take doxycycline.

Is metronidazole, injection of ceftriaxone and zithromycin enough to treat PID not caused by an STI? I'm 2 weeks pregnant so can't take doxycycline.

Here are some. ..: Clinically, the antibiotic treatment you've received should cover all common PID-related bacteria. At this time, you should direct & bring all your existing concern to the treating Doc for analysis, follow-up, modification, etc. Further online chat, I'm afraid, will further confuse you with more anxiety and fear instead of help you. So, keep a close contact with your Doc so to refine the care....
