Can A Woman Have More Than One Stillbirth Scared To Try Again
Stillbirth: The cause of the first stillbirth would help determine your recurrence risk. In general, there is a 3 - 5% risk of recurrence. Older women however have a greater chance of stillbirth. A consultation with an maternal fetal medicine specialist may help you estimate your recurrence risk and plan your next pregnancy.See 2 more doctor answers
Are the chances high of a reoccurant placenta abruption after having one at 32 weeks which resulted in stillbirth?Dr's have said it looked like a fluk
Recurrence rate: The most recent literature is putting recurrence rate between 5-15%. The risk is even higher if the initial abruption was considered to be severe. When the abruption is severe enough to kill the fetus, as in your case, there is a 7% incidence of the same outcome in a future pregnancy, unfortunately. There aren't any studies that demonstrate interventions lower the risk. I wish you the best.See 1 more doctor answer
Just can't seem to let go off the past and move on after stillbirth. Should I try to get pregnant like they say?
I delivered a stillbirth girl at 24 weeks and want try again. What testing or such is recommended before doing so?
Good question: Status of evaluation for stillbirth ?fetal autopsy ?placental evaluation ?karyotype ?indirect coombs’ ?serologic test for syphilis ?screen for fetal-maternal hemorrhage (kliehauer-betke or other) ?toxicology screen ?thorough medical and obstetric history ?parvovirus serology ?lupus anticoagulant screen ?anticardiolipin antibodies ?factor v leiden mutation.. These are just a few of the many tests.
23yo female last pregnacy resulted in a stillbirth at 38weeks placenta stopped working. Preg again wagt are the chances of happening again?
Difficult to say: It would depend on why the "placenta stopped working". Was there any testing done? Any evidence of diabetes, uncontrolled blood pressure, pre-eclampsia, blood clotting disorder, etc? Having more information would be helpful in answering that question. None-the less extra vigilance during a subsequent pregnancy is required. Early testing, ultrasounds, etc. Good Luck!
My cousin just had an 18 week stillbirth and now wants to try to get pregnant again. She has had 4 miscarriages in the last year. Is she ready?
So sorry : ... That she has had to go through such a difficult year. Before trying again, it might be helpful to see a high risk doctor to try to find out why she's having so much trouble. Depending on the reason, there may be things she can do before she gets pregnant to help have a good outcome.See 1 more doctor answer
After my stillbirth at 34 weeks how soon can I try again for another baby? I really don't want to wait a year. Will this happen again if I get preggo
Discuss with doctor: The answer depends on the reason for the stillbirth and the underlying cause. If no cause is known then there is likely no benefit to waiting. Schedule a visit with the doctor who cared for you who knows you history to clarify the plan.
Stillbirth: The pain will probably never go away. It may fade somewhat over time, but you will always feel the emptiness from the loss. The next pregnancy will be high stress even if everything goes according to plan. So my advice would be to wait until emotionally and pschologically you are ready. For some patients this might be a few months, but for most it will be closer to a year.See 1 more doctor answer
How long should one take before resuming on sex after stillbirth? Or when is it safe to start having sex after stillbirth?
Sex after stillbirth: Some of this depends on how far along you were at the time of your loss. It's best to check in with the OB who cared for you. But generally somewhere in the range of 2-6 weeks would be typical.
I had a stillbirth due to a placenta abruption. NO known cause. One healthy birth previously. Would I be likely to have another abrupt or healthy preg?
Abruption chances: First of all, I am sorry for your loss. The risk for a recurrent complicated placental abruption in your next pregnancy is about 33/1000. Special surveillance would need to be undertaken about 3 months prior to the gestational age of the baby you lost due to the first placental abruption. Best of luck to you.
I visit my husband for three months so how to concive fast in this time period?I have one stillbirth last year through C-section
Ovulation kit: This will help you predict when you are ovulating. You can time your intercourse for that time.
I am trying to get pregnant after stillbirth.Dr prescribed folic acid 5mg tablet in one day.I heard this will increased the chance of twins. Is it true?
I am not aware of : Folic acid increasing the chance of twins, but it will reduce the chances of a specific birth defect, called neural tube defect, which occurs before the woman even knows she is pregnant. That is why prenatal vitamins are important for any woman trying to become pregnant.See 2 more doctor answers
Im 38.5 weeks high risk pregnancy.....Cause i had 2 stillbirths one at 36 weeks and the other at 20 weeks so will i beable to get my labor induce?
IF you were my pt: I would induce u at 39 weeks or earlier , if earlier u must have an amnio but since you are 38.5 i would induce u right at 39 weeks, as the ideal time to deliver is 39-40 weeks and i would be doing nsts and bpps each week until u deliver, indcucion is safe and easy and effective when done properly, almost all of my pts want to be induced, please call your OB to discuss and get it scheduled.
My menstral cycle usually last at least 5 day and is very heavy and this time it was 3 days and very light why would this be? I am not pregnant that we know about. I have had one stillbirth and we have a 4 yr old daughter. I am 29 yrs old.
I have severe preeclampsia 2011 almost loss of vision, kidney failure stillbirth a very traumatic event of my life do I have to conceive again.Scared?
No, of course not: Women are free to conceive or not to conceive. Women are free to do whatever they want with their own bodies. If not wanting to conceive, and wanting to continue having sex, just visit the ob-gyn and get some really effective birth control. One can also use condoms in addition to a method from the ob-gyn, for maximum protection. Vasectomy for the husband is an option, but rather permanent.
It varies: If this has affected you, I am sorry for your loss. The death of a child before or after birth will strain the relationship in ways that do not make sense. Now is a time to work hard to reaffirm your love for one another. Ask your physician about support groups; there is no one-size-fits-all answer.See 1 more doctor answer
