Can A Urinalysis Detect Pregnancy
Pregnancy week 21 urinalysis show specific gravity of 1.01 normal range (1.003-1.030) everything else is perfect what does this mean?
Well hydrated...: Specific gravity is essentially a measure of how concentrated your urine is. If you are dehydrated, the number goes up. If you drink lots of water, the number goes down. A slightly low specific gravity just means you are well hydrated. Good job! Its nothing to worry about. ...Read more
A ua is a urinalysis, or chemical and microscopic analysis of the urine. The standard urinalysis is performed with a dipstick test for ph, blood, protein, sugar, and ketones. Is lower back pain near pelvic area normal, and how will I know if burning in vagina area is already UTI w/o urinalysis in 31 weeks pregnancy?
You can't know: For sure without an exam and a urinalysis. It is important to get a diagnosis and treatment since you are pregnant. If you can't get to a clinic/lab over the weekend, you can drink lots of cranberry juice. You can also clean yourself off VERY well, go into a clean cup or jar and check for any odor. Leave it at room temp overnight, if not infected, it should still be clear and nearly odorless. ...Read more

Since meconium can retain any banned substance for months after use, the only way to stay out of trouble would be to abstain. You didn't identify the state, so I don't know if this applies. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I'm not an OB/Gyn: But urinalysis and blood tests for pregnancy are the best ways to determine pregnancy. Even "fetal movement" can be other things like gas or bowel function. The other "signs" of pregnancy you list are very subjective. Go with the facts; get another blood test if you really think the first one was bogus/false! ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
