Do ticks bury themselves beneath the skin or do they stay on the surface? I try to do tick checks several times a day, but i notice a bump under the skin that is red and inflamed and i'm concerned it might be a tick.

A local reaction to the tick is common but not lyme disease. If the black dot is part of the tick, your body will ta ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

So I've been itching & after the itching, long lines start to appear but they do go away afterwards, its like a line formed under the skin.
Dermographism: A physical urticaria. Twitchy mast cells secrete histamine when stimulated by scratching or rubbing. From Greek for "skin writing". Cause unknown. Will eventually go away.
