Can A Tick Bite Cause Lupus Disease
How big is a tick bite that can cause Lyme disease? I have a bite, but am not sure if its from a tick. What do tick bites look like?
Let me help: A small, red bump may appear at the site of the tick bite. This small bump is normal after a tick bite and doesn't indicate lyme disease. However, over the next few days, the redness may expand forming a rash in a bull's-eye pattern, with a red outer ring surrounding a clear area. ...Read more

Rash, flu symptom: There are a number of tick borne illnesses. To get lyme disease you would first have to be bitten by an infected tick in an area of the country with lyme disease. The early symptoms are a rash and sometimes fever, headache cold or flu like symptoms. This can be followed by other rashes, neurologic symptoms, joint swelling, joint pain, and cardiac (heart) symptoms. ...Read more
Other symptoms: In lyme disease, there is usually a "bull's-eye" rash at the site of the tick bite, but this is often missed. Symptoms of more advanced lyme disease can include arthritis, neurological problems, and heart problems. Blood tests can sometimes be helpful in making the distinction. Living in pa, if you had a bite and a rash, treatment for early lyme may be appropriate. Otherwise, discuss with your md. ...Read more

Bite can lead to LD: Tick bites may transmit a variety of illnesses if the tick has been infected with a germ that uses the tick as a carrier. Rocky mountain spotted fever, tick bite fever & lime disease are some diseases that can be passed by ticks. Not all ticks carry diseases and not all bites will pass the germ. ...Read more

What does a tick bite look like and what does it look like if its Lyme disease and what are the symptoms got bit a month ago and spot still there?
Appearance varies: A tick bite can be invisible after the tick detaches, or leave a red spot. I have the bullseye rash around a tick bite but no other symptoms of Lyme disease. Should i still get a test done?
Get Rx & blood test!: A bullseye rash around a tick bite is considered proof of lyme disease. If you do not have symptoms yet, you almost certainly will over time. It takes time for a blood test to turn positive & you should not wait for this; the earlier you start treatment the better the outcome. Many lyme specialists advise Doxycycline 200 mg 2x/day for a month to be safe. Also, get tested for co-infections like babesia. ...Read more

I have a bullseye rash around a tick bite but do not have any other symptoms of Lyme disease. Do I need to get a blood test?
Not just Lyme: Avoid being "lyme-centric"! Depending on geography, there are several other tick borne diseases (e.g. Anaplasmosis, babesia, human monocytic or granulocytic erlichiosis) that co-infects with lyme (caused by b. Burgdorferi), or else, the diagnosis is something other than lyme (eg. Relapsing fever caused by b. Hermsii & southern tick -associated rash illness [stari] caused by a diffferent tick. ...Read more
I have a tick bite that is 5 days old. It's mildly tender, mildly itchy and looks like a large mosquito bite. I'm not in a Lyme disease region.
Tick borne illnesses: Include many things besides just Lyme. However, most often, a local reaction to a tick bite is simply inflammation; an expanding, red area of tenderness can be cellulitis (a skin infection, often caused by staph bacteria). If it is worsening or you develop a fever, please seek medical attention for proper evaluation and treatment. ...Read more
My husband has a tick bite with a really bad burning feeling and black spot under the skin where he pulled the tick out. Could he have Lyme disease?
Could the red and white circles (bulls eye) around a tick bite mean anything other than Lyme disease?
Do I have lme disease? I got a tick bite on my upper thigh about half a year ago. It spread to other parts of my legs, itches a lot, but I don't have any of the other symptoms. I misspelld: the question is do I have Lyme diease?
The rash associated with lyme disease is called erythema migrans and it looks like a target or bulls-eye. It usually starts at the site of the tick bite 3-30 days after the bite (average 7 days) and then can spread to other parts of the body. The rash typically doesn't last more than a month and is rarely itchy. An itchy rash appearing 6 months after a tick bite would not be related to lyme disease. Other kinds of ticks can spread other organisms besides lyme such as "southern tick associated rash illness" or rocky mountain spotted fever, so if you think you have an abnormal rash related to a previous tick bite, contact your doctor.
