I couldn't get my second MMR shot due to a severe allergic reaction to it. What ingredient would cause this? Not allergic to any others. Will I be ok?

I couldn't get my second MMR shot due to a severe allergic reaction to it. What ingredient would cause this? Not allergic to any others. Will I be ok?

?Neomycin, hopefully: Like all vaccines, the MMR vaccine has many ingredients one could react to, but the most likely is neomycin, which is known to cause severe allergic reactions. How to get rid of spots caused by allergic reaction?

Cortisone creams: Most allergic skin rashes (eczema, allergic contact dermatitis such as poison ivy, insect bites) respond to topical corticosteroid creams. Hydrocortisone 1% is effective for mild conditions, and there are stronger products which are available with a prescription. If the rash is from hives, oral antihistamines, such as allegra, zyrtec, and Claritin (loratadine) should work. If it does no respond, see an M.D. ...Read more
