Can A Pinched Nerve Cause Numbness In Fingers
Can ADHD meds cause nerve damage? Ie numbness in fingers and joints, neck/shoulder tenseness, crippling sciatic nerve pain. Are these all related?
No. Stimulants can: Constrict blood vesselsraise blood pressure (usually by 5-6 mm hg) &? pulse (usually by 5-6 beats/minute), but they don't cause impingement of nerve roots with numbness, tingling & pain in the areas served by specific nerves. See your primary care to initiate evaluation for the cause of your symptoms.
The brain and spinal cord communicates with what is occurring in the internal organs and limbs by nerve fibers where are like electrical wires with insulation (myelin) and the "copper" (axon). Within brain and spinal cord these nerves connect to other nerves via synapses on both axons and dendrites. A nerve can carry information regarding sensations, and ...Read more
No, neck more likely: A rotator cuff tear will cause weakness and localized pain in and around the shoulder. Cervical neck pain resulting from local nerve compression, however, can cause numbness down in to the fingers, as can any peripheral compression of the nerves along the pathway from the cervical spine along the nerve course to the fingers.
Yes....: Bulging disc in the neck can cause neuropathy - numbness down the arm / hand - not the chest
Can tennis elbow cause numbness in fingers and pain shooting not only down the forearm but to shoulder too?
Many things: While everyone talks about carpal tunnel and it is certainly prevalent there are other nerves and especially the ulnar that can cause numbness in the hand. In fact, there is a whole range of things from abnormal pressure on nerves anywheres from their origin in the neck down to the hand, metabolic issues like diabetes, and more that can cause numbness. See a specialist. Good luck.See 1 more doctor answer
Not usually: Anemia is too few red blood cells. This lowers your oxygen carrying capacity of your blood. As a result of this your heart and lungs need to work harder to circulate your blood. This should not cause finger numbness. However is you are breathing faster than normal, this can cause some extremity numbess. If this keeps up get it checked out.
If pernicious: An anemia caused by b-12 deficiency can cause a peripheral neuropathy amongst other issues. But many other anemias are less likely to cause nerve dysfunction. Might have your internist sort this out. Perhaps you have a co-morbidity, such as carpal tunnel having no relationship to your anemia.See 1 more doctor answer
Ulnar: Description suggests a localized problem from the ulnar nerve, perhaps at wrist or elbow (more likely). An EMG test might well localize and diagnose. See your doctor and get started.
Extreme pain at side of my post neck during or after sleep. Transient finger numbness in morning for 20min. Hnp can cause such? Anything other than hnp?
Muscular, carpal tun: This may be a significant muscular problem related to your neck position during sleep. Experiment with pillow. Could also be a bit of irritation of nerves in the neck without true hnp. Also, carpal tunnel synd often causes upper extremity pain and tingling/numbness at night. Try a Velcro wrist brace when you sleep
What causes shoulder pain and finger numbness? The pain is really bad and my arm is almost immobile.
Shoulder instability: Due to a variety of causes, previous trauma, muscle weakness or injury. Loose ligaments are some causes. An unstable shoulder can give a feeling of apprehension when in certain positions and make the arm feel " dead". There are other explanations too. See an orthopedic surgeon. It's not normal for a 22 year old to feel this.See 1 more doctor answer
Could anxiety and stress cause diffuse numbness in fingers and right leg. Been extremely worried lately. All these symptoms started when stressed?
It could, but: Since you say your symptoms are on the right leg only and not both, you need a neurological evaluation. Anxiety can certainly cause physical symptoms like numbness and tingling in extremities due to hyperventilation, etc -- but usually these are distributed equally. Please see your doctor.

Elbow nerve by funny bone running to wrist: pain, numbness in fingers, swelling when flexed at night. What is it?
Cubital tunnel syndr: Cubital tunnel syndrome is a compression neuropathy involving the ulnar nerve at the elbow. This nerve typically supplies sensation to the small finger and half the ring finger but more importantly supplies the majority of the intrinsic hand muscles which provide 1/2 total grip strength and finesse hand control. You should get this evaluated as if this nerve is in duress it can go away...foreverSee 1 more doctor answer
